I think one of the problems with home schooling is the lack of interaction with other people. So many personalities, and the kids will have a problem learning the differences and how to react to them.
Private school is an option.
what are your thoughts on home schooling?
we had a few in one congregation i was in that practiced home schooling for their kids.
i kina think home schooling is isolationists and for loons.

since leaving the watchtower, do you still believe that you will live forever, here on earth?
some might think that heaven is the final destiny, while other may just believe in this short life and nothing else.
what is your belief and how does it affect your daily life?
I was reading Scully's comments, and they made sense. Really, the paradise the WTS teaches, sounds quite boring. There are so many things that most witnesses do, such as movies for one example, and flying for another, that are ok for everyone to do now, but in "the new system" they would become obsolete.
In answer to the question, I read the bible, particularly the chapters from Matthew on. When you think about it, it makes much more sense that they are talking about heaven, not a paradise on earth. I believe when I die, I will go to heaven. I think what happens there is pure speculation, but I must have the confindence that God knows what is best for us, and ultimately what makes us happy.
during your lifetime or after you pass away, what do you want your legacy to be?
what do you want people to remember about you?
I want to be remembered for being a great husband and father, to have loved his friends and family, very giving, loyal.
ok so i'm on the phone talking to my friend, when i hear a knock so light i wasn't even sure if it was a knock.... (the doorbell, lighted, works just fine).. i open the door.
two attractive young ladies in their early 20s are standing there, don't even make eye contact.
one reaches into her bookbag and pulls out the lasts watchtower and asnake magazines and proceeds to ramble incoherently for the next 30 seconds.
I am just waiting for them to come to my door! That was great, love to hear stories like that!
another fine example of the violation of civil liberties perpetrated by the bush administration / ashcroft-led justice department under the guise of fighting "terror.
is this not "terror" in itself?
at what point is it acceptable for the american people to allow such actions to be committed against fellow american citizens simply because these people are of arab descent?
Reborn-
Did you read the whole story?
The fact is, those who VIOLATED IMMIGRATION LAWS, OVERSTAYED THEIR VISA'S, OR WANTED FOR CRIMES were the ones detained.
As horrible and evil as the United States is, there still is no place else I would rather live. This country is not going down the toilet. If it were so bad, why is this is the number one destination for so many people from different countries?
i told my husband last week that i didn't plan on going to chats or forums.
we've been trying very hard to stay on neutral ground.
we began by just researching all the history of jws and turning to the publications published by the society, to either back the history we were reading, or to dispel it.
Welcome to the site, and best wishes to you and your family during this difficult time. Hopefully being on the board here will help you and your husband through.
for those who may have voted for our idiot governor in california, he just announced today (after re-election of course) that ooops!!
our state budget is 38 billion more in the hole than we thought.. like he didn't know this before.
and, now he will try to raise taxes to make up for this.. to put this in perspective, that deficit is larger than all other states total budget, except for new york.. and we got four more years of this?

why is it that when the overseer visits the congregation, that just about everybody shows up to the meetings and they all go in the field service?
a whole week of endless zeal just to prove that they are all so spiritual.
is gone, they all come back to normal.
There was too much crap to answer up to if you didn't participate in the programs that the WTS so lovingly provided us.
well, i was on the road this morning when my wife called me from her cell.
she proceeded to tell me she stopped to get coffee when this asian woman kept trying to talk to her in broken english.
since my wife couldn't understand her, she politely nodded and said, "that's nice" and started walking to her car.
As far as informal witnessing, just casual talking to someone about the "truth" never happened. That was the last thing I would ever talk about.

In my teenage years, I did a fair amount of witnessing before the regular service time. I always thought it was better than going door to door.
I still get pissed off at people who count time and don't do anything. For the most part, our time was big time door to door pounding at homes, rain or shine.
