this is a question that i have struggled with, not just as a jehovahs witness but as a believer in god.
If there is an omnipotent god, he/she/it has allowed countless suffering throughout the ages.
Some people bring suffering upon themselves.
However countless infants and children have suffered and died brutal deaths.
A god who allows that, has no love or compassion, there is no excuse.
this is one subject that really annoyed me when i was a jehovah's witness - and i find it still annoys me after being out 7 years from the jw's.
the title of this jw only wt study article is " have regard for those who are working hard among you ".
in my opinion there always seemed to be a double standard in which rank and file publishers were always told to be patient with elders shortcomings - however if rank and file publishers slipped up - elders would be into admonishing and disciplining them like flies attracted to dung with no delay.

Yes, I have experienced it. I was 15 and those three elders sat around me in a semi-circle firing sexually explicit questions at me. It was beyond horrible.

its not easy being an introvert in an extrovert worldespecially when youre a kid.
it is even more difficult if none of the adults in the kids life recognize that the child is an introvert.
this doesnt happen only when the childs parents are extroverts, but also with introverted parents who have never understood their own introverted nature.. .
For some reason, some people tend to think that being introverted is something you need to overcome.
I have a friend who is introverted and her extrovert husband is constant trying to fix her by pushing her into friendships and dragging her to social events. He thinks she just needs to relax and suddenly she will start having fun among hoardes of people like he does.

i had to share this sad experience... even if it's not in my top priority list.. my older brother from my mom's first marriage unfortunately passed away last night.
he had been struggling with health issues, the last few years.
this is a very sad time in the family as you can imagine, specially because my mother lost her youngest son just five years ago.

i went to a pranic healing class with my sister in law last week (i've been out 6 years and i'm starting to get pretty open minded).
i didn't expect to feel or experience anything "different".
i thought it was all weird but was not scared of the ideas like i would have been a few years ago.. so anyways we did a couple excercises where we held our hands a couple feet above our partners hands and visualized light in different colors beaming out of ours and hitting theres and then switched roles.
p.s. I'm only 27 but if my husband left me I'd be a total princess!!!
haha, oh sorry, I did not mean to make fun of another persons difficulties. Having your husband leave you can be pretty painful.
At the time I read it, I was a newly single parent with little to no resources and I was quite envious of her education. Loved her book though, it helped me a lot.
When i was a kid, members of the anointed were treated with a lot of respect.
Now, unless you are a member of the GB, the annointed cant get any respect at all, other JWs just think they are nutters.

hehe, if I remember correctly, she starts off with her tale of woe, husband left her when she was in her forties, she had been a homemaker with no career, she was devastated and didn't know what to do, how could she support herself and two kids on just alimony and child support?
So she dusted off that old PHD she never used and found a job, are you feeling her pain yet? nope, me neither. But princesses have fears too, and her method of overcoming her fears is simple and common sense. It really struck a chord with me and I grew a pair of balls got the nerve to do things that I needed to do to improve my life.

Letting go of the fear- that sounds like a book title.
There is a book titled "feel the fear and do it anyway" by Susan Jeffers,I recomend it, it helped me a lot. The author is a bit of a princess, but if you can get beyond that, its a great book.
