Note that the Japanese, some of the worst offenders, simply claim that it is their cultural "right" to do this. They certainly do not need to do it for food.

In washington state their are some native tribes that claim that right too.

I don't understand the "we've been doing it for centuries so it would be offensive to our culture to stop now" arguement.

she sent me about seven magazines including the april 15, 2010 study cult edition.

it's the one with the new definition of generation.

i wonder if she's read it yet.

Kind of an odd list of wealth.

Sounds like what someone would consider wealthy back in the 70's.

And why would she have a mink coat in Mexico? No one brags about mink coats anymore.

Maybe the GB has watched to many episodes of "the Jeffersons"

How come nobody told me about volume 7?!

what the hell?.

i started reading coc a couple of weeks ago whenever i get a chane to hide out, i'm into chapter 7, great information.. last night i decided to listed to a couple of mp3's i found at freeminds.. if i wasn't sure already, they put the nails in the watchtower's coffin, especially gregerson's expose on his study.

similarly as gregorson, i too set out to try and boost my faith and prove to myself that i had "the truth".

There were several editions of "studies in the scriptures", so not all of them are the same.

I'll go dig out my set and see what the title of #7 is.

As a JW, Did You Pray & Study With Your Spouse?

when you were a jw, did you pray regularly with your spouse?

what about a "family study"?.

i was a pioneer and ministerial servant, but praying with somebody was always the most awkward, uncomfortable thing ever.

Why do people pray before meals?

Shouldn't we give thanks before receving all the other things god provides for us?

I mean, shouldn't we pray before entering our homes to show appreciation for the shelter that god provides?

I think we should also pray before getting dressed, because thanks to god we dont have to walk around naked

Why not give thanks for the gift of air before inhaling, because without that we would be dead so fast, much faster then missing out on food.

I never understood why food specifically gets the automatic prayer.

New Liver Cancer Pill...

just saw this and was thrilled!

hubby died from liver cancer and back in the early 2000's there was no life extension or cure!.

they gave him pallitive chemo to numb the pain only.. if this really works it is indeed a miracle.

Im so sorry to hear about your husbands Snoozy, cancer is such a terrible thing.

PTSD / post tramatic stress disorder

there was a post made earlier, that got me thinking about this.. it seemed that when i was a witness if something bad happened to me the usual reply was, 'well you must be serving god right, satan is making.

life harder for you.

he is trying to break your integrity.

After 15 years of being out I still have what I call "meeting night anxiety".

I grow increasingly anxious as the day progressive, somewhere around 2 or 3 pm, I start to feel panicky and then voice in my head says "is it a meeting night?"

This is followed instantly by the realization that it will never be "meeting night" again, and then I feel relief.

I am not even aware of whats going on until I hear that voice, once I become conscience of it, it evaporates.

I was in for more years then I am out, maybe in a few years when the JW part of my life is the minority instead of the majority, it wont effect me anymore.
