once again the extremely controlling measures taken by the wt society are evident in the "witness only " nov.15th wt article " treasure your place in the congregation ".

as time goes on the governing body keeps pushing the thought into witnesses minds that the " faithful & discreet slave " is the boss , god, main enchilada , the one through whom rank and file witnesses must answer to in order for jehovah to approve them.

so strap your seat belts on: this should be interesting.. under the subheading " cherish our place- how ?

They are scrambling to maintain the mind control ray and it's showing. Good for them, I hope they continue to print statements as harsh or more harsh than this in the future. I love when I can smell their desperation all the way from the east coast....

or so i was told as a kid ( jw kid) i asked why... " because they are evil!

i did wonder at the time why people would bother to do that when surely they must have better things to do with their time???.

i thought about that... if the founding brothers were alive today they would be df'ed for apostacy?!!

They'd probably wonder why there was such a heavy yoke on the people, why not all partake every Sunday, why there was no ministry for the widows and infirm, why Jesus wasn't being preached, etc. And then they'd complain to the leadership, which would cause them to get df'd.

even while her husband was dying and afterwards brothers would visit her and read scriptures about the resurrection and paradise???

wtf!!!

!she said she knows those scriptures by heart and instead just wanted some support and to cry...which is what we did when we went to see her.....it's such a cold sterile, robotic religion.

Well, shouldn't she be automatically comforted by reading scriptures? After all, it's the "taking in knowledge" that makes one happyfied, no?

i'm on a site now that streams wrestling pay-per-views illegally.

i'm on because every time i go to a ppv at a bar or if i actually order it for the price without fail i feel jipped.

especially since the wrestling is usually terrible and choreographed.

I think pirating will continue, regardless. The only ways--IMO--to curtail piracy is by creating a more valuable product, as you mentioned, and by people having more disposable income.

Maybe when this unemployment slump ends, there might be a little less piracy...

Phone Territory!

well, couple days ago i got stuck with a brother doing phone territory!

man, i hated that!

i kept on wishing no one picks up the phone or it's a disconnected phone number or something.

Phone witnessing was fun, in the right context. When I was getting my hours in as an aux pioneer, I (regretfully) went phone witnessing at the hall with this uber-pioneer family. Most uncomfortable experience ever! I hated having ever having to spend time with these dubs, and calling people with them was even worse. Hated it.

On my two year slide to fading out, towards the end, I went to a brother's house to do it. This guy has Lou Gehrig's disease, so it was great for him to have people come over and get time in. That was a lot better--the people weren't uber-pioneers, just regular r&f dubs. And there was food and water!

I was leaving the local community college campus after class, and saw four adults in dresses and suits getting into a car. I didn't see a bookbag with them; that would have been a dead giveaway. They might not have been dubs. But it was certainly possible that they'd just done some time at their booth on campus. They didn't recognize me, so that was good...

The elder's advice is to wear a mask to hide your pain. Maybe the other drones can do it only with the aid of Xanax or Zoloft. But that still doesn't solve the depression.
