  its time for me to move on.. some of you will know that recently ive really messed my life up.

  i met a lurker on a dub site and while we started off as just friends we became a lot more.

  over 3 months we hurt both our partners and ourselves and in the end she ended up running back to her rich boyfriend and cut me off completely.. ok i know that some of you embittered bible bashers just cant wait to reach for your keyboards and start condemning me save it!

  But Darlin', we're ALL YOUR PEOPLE. We ALL GREW UP the same way as you did. And we're all still here for you. Taking a break is fine, of course, go off and mourn if you want, go talk to a counselor if you feel completely helpless, but the fact is... we are all still here for you.

  Are Faders "better" than DF'd or DA'd?

  this is something i've been mulling over.

  just would like to hear opinions as to whether faders, or inactive ones think they are superior to disfellowshipped or disassociated ones?

  what is your experience with this?

  I faded, and I don't consider myself to be any better in any way, shape, or form to those who were DA'd or DF'd... in fact, that was the reason I left, was the horrid, un-Christ-like practice of disfellowshipping, and shunning in either case.
  
  I DO however, consider myself to be incredibly blessed and lucky, because all of my loved ones still in do still express their love for me... even ones who quit talking to me for years are now back in my life, and I love that. I think that if one can manage to fade, it just makes it easier on those who truly love you who are still trapped inside by their own minds and hearts. We can do a lot more if we can still communicate.

  I think I have lost my friend...

  i posted earlier regarding my friend who is a jw that i have spent time with first as a work association, and then as just a friend.

  she has a lesbian daughter and me being a lesbian was able to help her understand some of her daughters lifestyle.

  i spent time staying at her home when i was in the area, had what i thought was a good relationship with her husband.

  First of all, WELCOME to the forum, Brunhilda!
  
  Secondly, so sorry this is happening to you. As her husband sounds like a jackass, he more than likely feels terribly threatened by you and because of his behaviour he probably should feel threatened, I'm certain your friend likes spending time with you much more than she does with him!
  
  That doesn't minimize the hurt, but that's what the J-Dubs are all about, I'm so sorry to say. HURT HURT HURT in the name of the schizophrenic old-testament god. agh. It just goes on and on.
  
  The suggestion about sending a card is a lovely one... do you two still work together? If you could get a card or letter to her to let her know that you will always be there if she needs to/wants to talk...

  I'm with CrazyBlonde... I have been out longer than I was in but I don't think I really started HEALING until these forums. I left before there WAS an internet... and man, I tell you, I was ALONE.
  
  My Precious Chosen One has asked me many questions about the dubs through the years... and I just froze up... I was too agro and angry and walled-off to answer. I couldn't talk about it. Now that I am on the forums, it's pretty funny... he's getting sortof a kick out of asking me things and hearing the Dub Jargon (what he calls "JDubble-talk") and I have been able to come to grips with things I thought were long gone.
  
  Well, maybe Mom was right... maybe I was demonized... it seems I am finally able to exorcise some of them now.

  Good gods... hugs to you, Purps. I can't imagine what you went through. And then to wait NINE STINKIN' YEARS FOR THE PRIVILEGE... dang I'm glad you're here now.
  
  I left because I knew that shunning was NOT pleasing to Jehovah in any way, shape or form. I got a JC when I was turned in for sneaking to a DF'd one to encourage him. We read the daily text together on my visits, his idea.
  
  Anyway. Hurt, heal, hurt, heal. There is no way to call their shunning practices right.

  to get hold of or have copies of old watch towers ?.

  i'm thinking of all the ones that talked about 1975 etc .. i need someting solid and real to present to jw's.i would also like copies of the ones that spoke about the soviet union over running europe and the oil fields and taking control of the world .. this was in the 1980's i seem to remember..
