Good for your mom! I would definitely do that,,to possibly spare some uninformed, naive person the bait of the WTS.

I agree with Jim in TX. I think most would. Maybe if they found a scripture or two to support/twist for that. Most put their lives on the line (indicator- blood issue). I cringe still at the probability that I would have back a few decades ago.

The most IMPORTANT preaching work ever
by darth frosty inis being carried out by two old women standing on the street corner looking like they are either waiting for a bus or lost.. .
i was at work today and drove past a couple of 'sister's' doing street work.
to my trained eye, i could tell that they were indeed witnesses.

I had hope in Ray Franz on the GB when I was at Bethel (he was of the most knowledgeable, yet of the most humble), we left to raise a family, but a few years later they kicked him out. I had absolutely no more hope after that.

In the 60's there were many congregation picnics in the couple of halls I went to..However, my girfriend and I went pioneering to where the 'need of greater' in northern California. The congregation was small but in a couple years grew to a big number at almost 50. We started talking with some about doing a congregation picnic, & maybe play a little softball. Soon, at the book study, the congregation servant (as was called then) announced to the group before the study that he needed to have a meeting following with 'Sister # and Sister #'. After the meeting he started quoting the Kingdom Ministry that there could be no large gatherings, competitive sports that could start involving other congregations, & that there could be drinking (alcohol) that the teenagers could start doing inappropriate things.,, I defended that the congregation wasn't that big, the congregation only had older people, some young families and the 2 teenagers hated each other. He responded only that he didn't care how it was done in southern California but not in 'his' congregation. I realized then how ones could intrepret their own way in the organization. My pioneer girlfriend cried almost all night, but I was angry at his power & insinuation. I called my brother at Bethel then & told him about it & he laughed, as he was at the Kingdom Farm (Wallkill) then where they got together for their ball games and even made their own liquor there. Then, I went to Bethel, another story, but then gradually came to realize the indisputable personal fisted power rule of Knorr, F. Franz, later other GB.

I believe in "Creator" (not 'the', not 'a') . I don't understand many things, of course. I am 'awestruck' by so many good things though. I believe in life, love, joy and peace that to me seem like miracles in this crazy world. Actually, I consider this xJW forum a miracle too. Some may consider it simplistic of me but actually it is not, I've have worked hard, re-evaluating to get to this place.

I am so sorry for your loss too. I lost my mom 37 years ago (too early at 43 yrs old due to cancer) and I still weep at times and have often felt 'robbed'. I have chosen to hope she's been in better place all this time (tho her manipulated hope was 'earthly'). All of her 5 children have since left the WTS as the words of 'soon' and many other issues became very empty and unreality. But, we, her children have gone on, as we must, there for each other as we are all a piece of her. Please take care of yourself and allow your sorrow.

Predictions of the final total of total peak publishers for JWs?
by WTWizard inthe service year of 2006-07 is finished.
the 2005-06 year peaked at 6,741,444 total.
the average was much lower, and many of the higher total did only dummy service or fake service.

What's happening in the first-world countries is the reality tho. The third-world countries may increase but sadly the WTS doesn't help them in any way with their economics and health realities. They will burn out more quickly for the most part for the headquarters of the WTS truly has no sympathy for their reality and will only see them as a drain overall since there is no money there.

I am sorry about your loss of your nan. I am always amazed how wonderful, loving kids like you grow up and so outshine their parents. It's wonderful that xJWs value unconditional love and now thankfully have that commitment toward their own children.
