Thoughts on my life now
by freshstart inthough there are still problems in my life, as with everyone's life, i see the world so much differently now.
i no longer feel threatened from "worldly" people, as though somehow they are out to destroy me or take advantage of me.
it's very mentally liberating to realize that those walls the organization so erroneously put up can be scaled and that there is true beauty waiting on the other side.

Why Women Are Treated Second Class In This Organization?
by AvocadoJake inthe best bible scholars have been women in my realm of this religious world.
the women study their husbands watchtowers, prepare the parts, write their talks, put their ties on, get the shave cream out of their ears.
it must be hard and you must have the patiences of job, to be able to listen to, the many arrogant men and how you will (if you are a female annointed.

What was the name of the WT's special printing machine?
by Paralipomenon ini remember on my visit to the bethel, one of the stops was this machine that allowed rapid production of layout in different languages.
they were very proud of it, i guess it was invented by a poor volunteer there and it was enough of a breakthrough that they claimed that international companies were looking to buy or license the technology for millions.. the guide was very proud to say that they were keeping the technology and not sharing.
tee hee hee, take that satan!.

My purpose for this was to try to find some patents that the WT holds. They must hold some and I figured I could track some down based on this machine. Back then, they were still expecting the end to come and didn't care about legal paper trails.
I was curious what the information held for inventor name, current patent holder, etc. Unfortunately I didn't find much other than the resume of someone that used to work on it and the reference to a publication called "Web Catcher Manual" apparently published by the WT that I wasn't familiar with.

Anybody ever seen Robocop!
by Star tiger inhi,.
in the first robocop severval experiments implanted a human brain into a robotic form, i feel that i'm in the catogory of the one that realised they were totally alien in that form, just as a rational mind into the jehovahs witness mentality and would probably blow their brains out rather than live a total lie!!.

Heaven and Hell : Life after death
by bioflex ini am starting this topic to discuss the title.
i know many people on this forums dont believe in the idea of god , and even jw's reject the idea of a fiery hell even though the bible clearly states is.. this video contain testimonies osome people who even considered themselves as atheists until the point of practical death.. i just want to emphasize what one person said in the video at the point of death - " what if god is real, and what if all that which was being said about god was true" .
hope this helps whoever it may.. and one more thing, no matter what you do or how you live your life, just know that even at the point of death, jesus christ is able to save.

A lot of Christians gasp when they hear my point of view, but right now I feel that when I die, I'm gone forever. If I die and find out that I'm in the eternal torment aspect of any one of the hundreds of current or historical religions, then bonus points to me!
I got to enjoy my life and as a bonus, I get to keep living! With enough time, it's human nature to fetishize the torment, so give it a while and I'll either be apathetic to it or turned on. I'm fine with either.

two ladies come to the door

i sort of gave them shit and my wife who knows very little about my jw past was sort of suprised.
i realized how angry i am for all the damage that has been done.

I think it depends on your mindset. There are many that get stuck looking back with anger and regret, the goal is to get to the point where you turn around and look forward.
You cannot change your past, any time spent obsessing over it is more time that the WT inadvertantly claims from you. My advice is, when you feel a bad memory about your past with the Organization, if you catch yourself, force yourself to change to a memory of what you want to do in the future, something positive.
Eventually you'll retrain your mind, when you think of the past with regret, to switch tracks to something more positive.

I want to create an Ex-JW website. Please help! Need suggestions!
by Chemical Emotions ini'm not trying to rip off this site.
i love this site, and i've found others, like jwfacts, that are also awesome.. but i thought it might be fun to try one myself.
a forum-type site where i can also post cute things on the home page or something.. maybe for ex-jw women?

First, I'd suggest asking yourself the motivation for doing this.
If serious, I'd reccomend starting out as a blog. A forum is nothing without members and JW forums aren't typically known for cross-promoting. If you create a site/blog and keep it updated than slowly people that find it will keep checking back and over time it may grow into a community.
It's not an easy task and even if successful is quite thankless. Best of luck if you try it out!

Is it okay for JW to attend college with religious affliations?
by Iamallcool ini know they discourage attending college, but if someone attended college with religious affliations?
is that a judicial matter?

As with any issue, I think it entirely depends on the elders in the congregation. Some self righteous blowhards are always looking for an excuse to puff up their feathers and strut, others are more sympathetic towards someone trying to make a living.
Officially the stance is, if it hasn't changed, a conscience matter. Meaning, "we'd love to say no, but we've learned not to say anything definatively".
