I veiw them just as the Bible says, ones who quietly would come in and disown their Master and draw away disciples after themselves, turn away from them, it is becoming more and more evident that they have turned away millions with their false teachings and have brought a ton of reproach upon God and His Son. The damage is just unbelievable in terms of human pain and suffering.

I have felt this way for a long time, there are certain things that are true and hold to them, others we don't know and don't try to teach as absolute truth, it doesn't bring glory to God the Father through our Lord and has nothing to do with our salvation. Stick to the Bible and be humble enough to say "I DON'T KNOW"
It reminds me of Pauls words at Romans 11:33 How unsearchable Gods ways are, somethings we dont know and we will have to wait but those things really are not that important as bring praise to them, thanks again everyone for you thoughts on this post, I wish more JWs would read this and realize the futility of following men and men who know deep inside they are wrong but want disciples for themselves instead of turning them to Christ

As I was reading last night it appeared to me that Paul only met with the apostles in 17 years twice and he had no formal instruction from them and only after the issue of circumsion came up did he take what was agreed upon by the older men and apostles because of false brothers pushing the Law. Ironically as many times as I read that as a witness it never jumped out at me until last night in my reading. It became evident that there could not have been a so called Govering Body directing every action and so the thought of that happening today has to be a man made belief to control the masses and not a scriptural reading
there are a number of long time witnesses in my family ( 60 years plus) who are shocked by the contents of the jan 1 2007 wt.
for the first time they are telling me that someone in the writing department have it sooooo wrong!
in their minds it does not mean that the society as a whole is wrong because of their past comments (!!??).
Yes please be more specific as most of us don't recieve them anymore nor waste our time reading them but have tried to save the forests. If you could cut and paste some specific para or something. I also heard from a person who reads them that the 1/1/07 articles says something to the effect that the FD doesnt need or use the Christ as a Mediator as they communicate directly with God, don't know if this is true, but would like to. it amazes me how jehovah's witnesses think.
same time it terrifies me to think that i thought in the same way.
First time I ever read the letter and I just shake my head, people who are still in need to really ask themselves with the massive amount of evidence piling up, what am I doing in the org. Seek God people and wake up. By their fruits you will know them. Can you imagine the apostles and Jesus being a part of this or blessing this?

its 5:25am here, and i think i haven't had 30 minutes sleep all night.
the next door neighbors shot fire works off for 3 hours before midnight and another hour after wards.
my husband had to film a function and got home at 1:30 after a tire blew out on the highway.. my oldest son came in at 3:00 am with a broken nose.

Maybe if the contributions were not trying to support so many who don't work there would not be a need for so much money 1 Tim 5:8 8 Certainly if anyone does not provide for those who are his own, and especially for those who are members of his household, he has disowned the faith and is worse than a person without faith
Or if they didn't need to print so much unneeded literture they wouldn't need so much money.

2007 is the year i turn 40, in fact in exactly one month's time to be precise.. i've noted that a lot of people on jwd are a similar age to me.
i think it's because it takes us this long to pluck up the courage to finally leave the borg.. i need to know how turning 40 makes you feel.

What I learned from my last two day assembly over 6 years ago was not to attend another one, same old regurgitated information except they sound more desperate for "in God we trust" instead of "we trust God".
