Although there is also a version of the name Moses being Egyptian in origin, the thing that clinches it is the explanation of the name's meaning. "drawn out".

This would definitely make it Hebrew/Chaldean in origin.

A puzzling story is why Yaweh found Moses and tried to kill him. You can find this on Exodus 4

Witness Costume Parties?

does anyone remember a watchtower saying that costume parties were inappropriate for christians?

i seem to remember that they were labeled in the "deamon" category, even if you had one and it had nothing to do with halloween.. is this true?

Excuse me? How do good JWs do their parts in the assembly dramas if they don't dress up as Egyptians, Babylonians, Philistines and other pagans? It seems they have two sets of rules...

You have to remember that this is not carousing with dancing and getting drunk. This is more like theatre. Like they did in Jesus time. Remember that there were no women perfoming theatre in those days.

Actually the plays in the assemblies are modeled after the simpler times during Shakespeare. Ok. bad example again. We would not want people to think we are gay.

OK never mind.

Costume parties are bad just because we say so. So there.

Do you speak Spanish? I ask only because "Ruso" is Spanish for "Russian"... I'm fluent in Spanish and know some Russian, and I don't know too many other people with that combination of languages!

Actually, Moses's name was Chaldean, the language spoken by hebrews and neighboring countries. This is puzzling because, to begin with, I cannot imagine a princess from Egypt giving him a hebrew name.

Another problem with language would be that if Hebrews were slaves for more than three hundred years, they would speak Egyptian, not Chaldean or a derivative. Tell me how many Blacks speak the African language of their ancestors in America.

What is someone wants to kill himself and feels the only way out is suicide?

What if they want to kill themselves because they were DFd and want to end it all before Armaggeddon?

What if the doctors realize that these people are under the control of a dangerous group, and not in control of their faculties?

I am mostly supporting the minors.

Talk to people who left the cult, but previously allowed their families to die rather than receive blood.
