For me, I do regret not pursuing education further. I left high school at age 15 (went back after I left the borg and finished). I'm currently looking into a couple of night classes on photoshop and premiere as multimedia is my passion. I would love to turn this into a career. Even considering if there is a way I can study for bachelor of multimedia (if I can afford it).

Dubs don't grieve. They've been programmed not to.
I don't think I even started grieving for my mum until after I left. It's easy to see why in a way, to deal with the fantasy you will see your loved ones again, real soon in a perfect world.
Problem is, with it comes emotions you don't get out of your system. Maybe it's a contributing factor to so many dubs being on anti-depressants.

looking back at a few bethel threads and getting calls from many former friends last week about the assembly season, i reflected back on some of the assemblies of the past, particularly in the 80's and 90's.. do you remember beautiful sisters that just had the criteria of having a spiritual man.
they would get a dorky pioneer / elder / ms and walk together at the assembly.
everyone would wonder, "how the hel did that happen".
Where's my Beautiful Woman? Am I not dorky enough? If I ever found a nice gal to marry, she would definitely be appreciated by me.

YES!!
I could never sing those kingdumb melodies, I always 'mouthed' the words. Even today, I won't let anybody hear me sing - ever. It reminds me too much of those f--king meetings. Besides, my voice sounds like the choir of a thousand cats being strangled...

All human beings were meant to be happy.....and don't put any judgements on anybody---just accept whoever comes into your life. Observe your pets; they don't put any conditions on you--they just accept you, love you, depend on you and that is very rewarding!

Most of us (myself included) still like to see a purpose for our existence, as it then gives us a reason for being here. Maybe thats my insecurities talking.... Maybe I'm not quite de-programmed just yet...
As frankispeakin and nvrgnbk both pointed out though, maybe it is something beyond our understanding.
thinking back at the start of me questioning that perhaps the "friends" were not really true friends at all, were some experiences i will relate below: please share those that you have experienced.. after i had carpel tunnel surgery and was in a cast.....not one of the "friends" asked me about it?
at first i thought they wanted to be "polite" and not draw attention to the fact of the cast...but thinking more about it afterwards...it was just plain unloving and uncaring.

Yes I've been thinking of the whole beta vs vhs, superior technology dosen't always win but as you pointed out, sony seem to have learned their lesson. The playstation 3 is certainly a good start.
While I was certainly curious about pagan practices and I did what I felt was an adequate job of researching paganism, in the end I decided it was not for me. I certainly didn't "turn to it", even though I looked into it.
Like Scully, I also looked into paganism. I very quickly decided it wasn't for me and never bothered with it again. I think most would do the same, just curiosity, very different from 'turning' to it.
