  Especially for cat owners!

  one of my cats has ruined my sleep for the last 2 weeks with incessant meowing from about 5am until i get up.

  said cat is now banished from my room so i can get uninterrupted sleep!.

  Another trick to get her to swallow the pill.
  
  When you have her wrapped up and the pill on the back of her tongue, Hold her mouth shut and gently blow on her nose. It causes the swallowing reflex.
  
  And for those who want to know how I found that out, A vet taught it to my family after trying to get our very smart dog to eat her pills.

  a brother from my old hall was giving the talk so my brother (who lives with me and has no idea how i feel) signed us up for hospitality.

  i decided i should at least make an appearance to stave off the storm a little.

  for the past 5 months i have been in a wonderful relationship.

  he and i had started out as friends a few years ago, but realized that we were attracted to each other while he was going through his divorce earlier this year.

  he and his now ex wife are both jws .

  Trick or Treat anyone?

  is there anyone on the board who is celebrating halloween for the first time this year?.

  this is my 2nd halloween i am doing since leaving the borg (almost 4 years ago now), but it is the first time i am decorating the outside of my home as well as giving out candy.

  i hope some jdubs come by and work my street during the halloween season.

  This is our first year.
  
  Our kids are going as a wizard, a knight and a monkey.
  
  We are joining our friends to trick or treat in thier neighbourhood after we clean out ours.
  
  Don't worry Homer, we won't let the kids eat all the candy at once. If fact the way I control sweets in this house they'll prolly still be eating it next year.
  
  Also I'll wait until they are older to explain druids and sacrifices to them, and then,IF they want to, they can join us.
  
  Hummm, note to self, catch human sacrifice.

  As a Fader Does Some of your Family Shun You , Even though not DFed ?

  hello my friends.

  this is a real subject here , so i welcome your responses , advice , and any experiences you can add that might help others and myself .

  most of us have family that are jw's , whether we are faded or dfed, or dissassociated .

  My thought is,
  
  Try to remember your girls are still young. At 19/20 I was a rotten self centered, "richeous over much" little brat. Give them time to mature and continue to call and tell them you love them. They will come around.
  
  Eventually either they will see the Borg for the cold hearted place it is or they will anger mommy dearest and she will drive them straight back into your open arms.
  
  Sounds like she used and is continuing to use them as a weapon against you.
  
  Hang in there, you are doing great.

  we have such an interesting group of people from around the world on this board.

  it might be interesting to have a thread where you discuss a hobby, something interesting that happened in the past, somewhere you've been, etc.. not deep, dark confessions - just interesting stuff.. .

  * i have travelled into all 48 american states that are not named alaska or hawaii.. * for the past few years, i have had a slight walking impairment due to a form of arthritis known as ankylosing spondylitis.

  How do you react.....

  when you see someone needing help in a public place?

  i usually avoid eye contact, but then feel guilty all day.

  for instance when you pull up to a light and people are standing there with a sign or actually walk up to your window...i won't ever roll down a window.. today i pulled into the local grocery store parking lot, and there standing with a walker, was a middle aged latino man with his lower legs in some sort of braces.

  I don't like giving cash to anyone.
  
  However, my neighbours, friends and I donate to different organizations in our area with food or goods. We have donated things our children have outgrown(but still in good condition) to our local teen parents organization. We also sent a load of clothes to another country to an orphanage. That one I did donate cash towards the shipping.
  
  We keep our eyes open for people in our area who might need a little help. A drive to the store, or job interview. A couple hours away from their kids.
  
  I don't give money to panhandlers, however if they get off their butts and help me load three kids and the groceries in to the van I will tip them.
