Tell them that you don't think Jesus would be happy about their shunning and let it go. Time to move on for your own familys sake.

**OUCH!!!**
by Princess Daisy Boo inso i was cooking supper a few hours ago and i broke up a dried birds eye chili with my fingers into my pasta sauce.
now supper is finished and i am relaxing and i get an itchy eye - i rub my eye... &*%$ ... it is 45 minutes later and my eye is still sore!.
what stupid self inflicted injuries have you suffered and what can you recomend for a burning eye?.

Fill your bathroom sink with cold, clean water and drop your entire face in it. Or take a cool shower with the head pointing gently into your eyes. For those with painful corneal edima ( scratches), get muro 128 eye drops (over the counter) and a few drops will help. It stings for a minute or 2 but it helps.

After studying with a witness I can honestly say I love my freedom that God gave me, and would rather not exist than suffer without it.
I am capable of making my own decisions without any outside interference.

If you are travelling to Banff, you must take a trip to Jasper through the Columbia Icefields. Highway 93 I believe. A trip to the West Edmonton Mall is worth 1 visit . And don't forget Drumheller where there is the dinosaur museum. Calgary has an excellent zoo on the eastside of town. Enjoy.

Long last letter to dad...please comment-not mailed yet
by dawg indad, .
i doubt youll even read this letter since it comes from your son, a son youve abandoned over your religious views, but i wanted to write you one final letter to see if theres any hope that you can come to your senses as far as this religion goes and we can renew our relationship.
im doing this because i care for you and mom deeply and feel very much distressed that you two refuse to see anyones opinion as being factual other than your own when it concerns the jw religion.

Dawg before you send the letter, I suggest you put it away for a few weeks and ponder this decision. If you feel it is necessary down the road, then send it. If not, then keep it longer. I found that putting things aside for awhile gives you an opportunity to think logically, not emotionally.
It does seem that your dad will just return it anyway. Perhaps send an envelope with a blank page and wait for a response. If the letter returns, no harm done. Time then to move on. I wish you well.

3 a.m. - my wife is in tears! What do I do?
by The Scotsman inwell my situation has developed a bit, any advice appreciated.. their has been a gradual building up of pressure ever since i stood down as an elder about 6 months ago.. i have been telling my wife about my doubts but have continued to attend "some" meetings.. as time has progressed i have become more open with my criticism of the org.. i mentioned the un scandal, molestation trials, false prophecy ect etc.. interestingly she does not deny these facts and yet still wants to continue as a jw.. i told her that god is not happy with people knowingly being part of a false prophet (deut 18 - etc) - starting to lay the groundwork for my exit.. she appreciates the difficult situation doubters are in - they cannot openly express their feelings for fear of jcs.. anyway, a few weeks ago we moved house which meant changing congregation.. but i felt it would be best if i did not attend meetings " at all" at the new cong so my fade could be easier.. but i could not have predicted my wifes response - when i told her it was an explosion of emotion, i mean real heartbreaker stuff.. she seems depressed at the prospect, perhaps the reality is finally hitting home.. last night, about 3a.m.
i noticed that she was not in bed.
i went downstairs and she was sobbing away to herself.. "i can't go to that hall myself!

Sounds like it's time for a good old fashioned Scottish brew. My mom was born in Aberdeen in the 30's I believe. I would like to trace her steps as a child there. Maybe if you live, or travel there, I would like you to describe life there.
As far as your wife, I hope you have the patience to work it out. Seems like a self esteem issue along with an inaccurate understanding of Jesus. Give her all the support you can muster.

God dammit!!! I hate this cult!
by bluesbreaker59 inso my girlfriend and i are getting very serious, and i've bought her engagement ring, should be done being built sometime in may.
then at some point later, i'm going to ask her to marry me.
she was with me and picked out her ring, so she knows its coming.

I'm sure your dad loves you. I am also certain he hates himself. Feel sorry for him for sure. But as far as restricting him access to your kids,It would be extremely unfair to your kids. After all, they are the ones who should make any decision down the road. Of course it should never be unsupervised. Restricting them would be similar to shunning him for being a Witness. We all here must prove we are better than they are programmed to believe. When in doubt , take the high road.

What is up with the obesity doctrine?
by kzjw ini'm a ubm, and the wife went to the assembly.
she didn't discuss the obesity issue with me, but my mother-in-law is obese.
so i'm just wondering how that would make her feel?

I can hardly wait to hear them rag on a JW associate of mine. He is morbidly obese and can walk only 30-40 feet before requiring meds. Imagine the cruelty telling a Slave you are no longer one of Jehovahs because of a weight problem. Pretty sad situation indeed.
