It's funny that muslims, sikhs, hindus, and athieists , all celebrate Christmas in our neck of the woods. Just not Witnesses.

Coffee time?
by Ex Nihilo inwhen you used to go out in service (or if you still do) what was the coffee time?
that's the time that you usually look at your watch and say "oh hey let's go for coffee then do a few more!
"...or worse...did you not take one in morning service?

I told my JW friend last week to discontinue offering me literature altogether, but a few days ago he tried again. Much of the stories were interesting, but the religious doctrine was opposite of what I personally believe.
However it's really interesting to note the emotions brought forth in the mostly interesting stories here. Some are depressing about the loss of family due to shunning. It's heartbreaking to read the childishness goings on with those who practice this. Even though my parents were totally screwed up, I always wanted to know they loved me. To those who are suffering, I wish all here suffering, better times down the road.

Blood Transfusions...

Sounds like a death sentence for people with kidney failure. Would the creator of all this really be happier to see someone choose death? So much for being pro life.
I for one will continue to donate blood to all who need it.

I've been to many Catholic services-lo and behold each one is a repeat of the last one. Including when the service halts and we all greet each others in the pews. That part is always interesting. I have met many interesting and humbling folk in Mexico at these services. Too bad I cannot understand a word they say. (well the odd word).

Asians took over the one in Richmond, and, you guesssed it, along came crime.(This is the casino that Denise Richards threw a laptop at a reporter, which fell on some lady in a wheelchair). I vote no, because we have too many.

I agree with nj-jw. In addition, get call display. Don't answer anything to do with them. or unidentified calls.

All this reminds me of the phrase "hell on earth" . Possibly more realistic than assuming some sort of spirit creature is some magical, horrible place. I do not believe the exsistence of Satan, but this is a good place to call hell. Especially some where in New York.

Aluminum is the devils metal. Although aluminum has been linked to parkinsons or alsheimers disease, I believe lead would be a more logical choice. Since lead is stored in the body and is hard to chealate. I also remember playing with mercury as a child. It is deadly. Not sure where the bible reference is to aluminum, or if it's just one of those nutty Witness claims.(sorry about any spelling errors)

The Insight and Wisdom of Warren Jeffs
by CaptainSchmideo ini don't know how many of you are following the trial of warren jeffs, leader of a mormon splinter sect, who is being prosecuted for arranging and advocating the marriage of young girls (14 years old and thereabouts) to much older men, with the parents' cooperation, of course.. one of these victims testified that she was made to listen to recorded sermons by this guy pretty much throughout the day.. cnn helpfully provided a snippet of one of his recordings:.
http://www.cnn.com/2007/us/law/09/11/fleeing.polygamy.hammon/index.html#cnnstcother1.
i am providing a transcript of the last bit, it's a howler, but it also sounds a little familiar.

We all should be getting on CNN's butt and tell them what is going on here. I watched that link totally from a previous thread on JW"S on google. It explains to me some missing info. about this evil"JW" cult. Gave me an ill feeling. The CBC's 5th estate really should investigate this garbage as well.

The 20 peso note from Mexico has a window. Looks wierd, but it's plastic coated and probably lasts a long time. Worth about 2 bucks.
