How is the WT unique?
by isaacaustin inthe org claims to be the true religion due to being the only ones correct on not believing in hellfire, the trinity, soul, staying out of politics, being the only ones to preach, etc.. none of these above are unique to the wt.
hellfire/trinity are not subscribed to by christadelphians...most religions preach in ways other than door-knocking- my church has so many missionary outreaches going on my head spins.
jws are the only org that counts their hours preaching.

I really hope this does not bother anyone, but I think there should be no expectations of uniqueness when all so called christian 'churches' (yours included isaac) come from the same mold. It is true some are more 'creative' than others but they all carry the same basic flaws of the original model.
Actually this belief or pretense to be 'unique' and therefore have the 'truth' is pretty uniform across all christian based religions. The expression 'my church' or 'our church' ratifies this.
Think for a second, 3 of the major religions have the same god, the god of Abraham, and yet each one claims to be unique and have the truth; and every subdivision within them claims the same thing...there is no uniqueness, only watered down versions of an original story which I no longer believe in...
To each their own...

I've been out for over 15 years now, after being in for 20 and I remember this been told by a CO in one of his talks.. this is a very old... I guess with the elimination of the book study the story/email/plank has to be edited... now the gap is only 4 feet!!!!
It is so sad to look back and remember what it was like to lick up this BS like it was ice cream... they would comment about the ilustration for weeks... and here it still is in a modern form... email!!!
Everytime I read something like this I ask myself: HOW THE (*(*& WAS I SO BLIND AND STUPID?

i'd think it's a 99% chance that the company is a bunch of jws.

Why do we give admiration to those who are 'sincere'?

why do we in society hold sincerity to such a high moral standard?
many are sincere but it doesn't make them less evil does it?

I see your point, sincerity in itself is not sufficient to determine evil or good intentions... those examples you mention are of 'sincerly' evil people... but their sincerity is misdirected because of their beliefs and/or agendas
But I certainly would not put in the same sentence the people you mention by name and any JW that knocks at my door trying 'sincerly' to 'save me'... the comparison is way way off...
Sincerity, just like faith, is useless without a proper foundation.

IMO, any version is as good as the other... they all are copies of copies... with added and deleted stuff over centuries of copying and copying.. I do not see whats the big deal; not a single page is an original and I am referring to the oldest 'copies' available...
Therefore every single person who places his faith and life in this book is doing so on the copies of copies of flawed and imperfect men over thousands of years...
But if you need an emotional or spiritual crutch to make sense out of your own lives, well I guess any copy is as good as the other... although I pity those whose self esteem is so low that they need reassurances from the myths of nomadic tribes from yesteryears... to each their own.

pitifull to me... all the wasted lives pursuing ancient superstition...satanic or christian... waste of time... stories and interpretations of stories that thwart the human mind of progress...
here they are writing books on 'satanic masses' , using the same symbols as the catholic church... basing their beliefs in the Kaballah and other ancient useless texts...
rusell, jones, swaggart, ayatollah,crowley... bunch of stupid men following the stories and interpretations of yesteryears fairytales or bunch of very smart men using the stories they KNEW are BS to control even more stupid people that follow and admire them...

To us df'ed ones it is easy.... just tell them exactly what you think.. The first time they came to my door I just tried the 'im not interested' approach... of course this was no deterrent.. they just went into the 'exactly-what-are-you-not-interested-in' routine... After I answered I had no interest whatsover in anything they had to say, they used the 'but-surely-you-must-interested-in-what-god-has-to-say' routine...
I was getting tiresome so I came back with the 'what-god-are-you-talking-about' countermove, to which they responded with the 'the-only-true-god-jehovah-from-the-bible' statement...
At this point I was tired of using spiritual ju-jitsu so I went for the throat... I told them I was dfed... not only was I expelled but that after taking off the WTBS shades, I actually did not believe in the bible as god's word or any other man written book for that matter and much less in the cartoonish like character called jehovah... That I went back to martial arts, and was studying Wicca and other related non-biblical religions and that I liked them better...
At that point and 'countermoveless', they left without saying goobye... which was exactly what I wanted...
After almost 9 years of no visits, about 2 weeks ago I was washing my car and saw 2 ladies approach...just before they reached the sidewalk, I saw a man come running at them and whisper something...
They stopped as if Medusa had looked upon them...turned around and did not talk to me...

Can somebody shed light on the 'new light' about shunning?
by Kinjiro ini've read several threads stating that during the last dc, 'new light' was shed (not shet) on the subject of shunning, making it even worse than it was before.... if anybody has the specifics on this, i would like to know.... domo arigato.
