HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL. PLEASE DON'T SEND ME EXPENSIVE GIFTS....however if any of you have an extra grand or so you don't really need....you can e-mail me and I'll send my address.
I am so looking forward to seeing everyone worshiping the sun-god as it always warms the heart. Still nice to see after these thousands of years people still honor old saturnalia.
I told my dub wife this morning I didn't see anyone worshipping the sun this time of year again....how come? I said.
She said ....."ya..this year they have the flag thrown in with christmas"
(They'll said anything to down people having a good time)
ANYWAY........I HOPE ALL HAVE A SAFE CHRISTMAS....LOVE TO ALL..GUMBY

LB: Holding hands is a commitment by JW's'
Actually in the 70's there was an article on dating that said holding hand's was the 'FIRST LINK' in sexual immorality then it asked..'would it be wise to start with the first link'?
I remember telling my wife back then that to follow the society's instructions on this matter would mean you could't hold hands until you were married let alone kiss each other.
Another taliban rule that nobody followed! -

Why the bible does'nt make sense to me
by Leander infor some odd reason this morning when i woke up the first thing that came into my mind was the suffering and pain that humans deal with on a daily basis.
again i'm not really sure what made me think about that so early in the morning.
(maybe it was a dream i had).

Penn: I wanted to apologize for applying wrong meanings to what you said about being delivered from certain fleshly desires.
I guess I'm still paranoid about certain people who make unbiblical claims.....just a lot of old witness thinking still inside me.
I think you did an awesome job in your reasoning with rem on creation and design. I'm so glad you came to bat at this time on this subject as it has been on my mind very much lately and I really appreciated what you said and how you said it.
Have a great day my friend and I hope you are not offended. -

BEAUTY IS TRULY IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER!!!
I never thought Kathern Hepburn was pretty even when she was young.
Betty Davis was another that never looked good to me that others thought was good looking.
Glad to see you still have some romance in those old bones of yours however Simon....have a great weekend! -

COC is the book that confirmed my feeling and got me out.
Easy to read, documented, and Ray gives an excellent look at what true christianity is all about.
Happy reading and we all look forward to your opinion on it. -

Unclepenn:...When I got saved, God freed me from those desires. I don't have to get nervous if I am around a bunch of alcohol or drugs. I dont desire that anymore, He changed me from the inside"
Well how come the apostle paul didn't get that same relief?
He said what he didn't want to do... he did... because he was a sinner.
The bible say's we have a wrestle within us to do bad.
How did you get relieved of all of this fleshy desires all the rest of us christians and others have?
I don't mean to sound like a smarty here unc but I think you give a flawed representation of a christian life.
To say God took the desire to do BAD from you contradicts scripture. -

'Questions From Readers'
by Outaservice indear brothers,.
we jehovah's witnesses number into the millions.. when my watchtower came in the mail the first thing i looked at was 'questions from the readers' as i felt this would be where 'new light' would probably be found.. lately, i've noticed that there are not too many issues have any questions from readers.
how could this possibly be, with millions of us?

CATH: Now with the information that you have posted you have confirmed what he was saying.
IS THAT ALL IT TAKES FOR YOU TO CONFIRM YOUR CONVICTIONS? A POST MADE BY SOMEONE?
I GUESS ARCHEOLOGY AND ALL ITS FINDINGS ON PROVING ALL THE EVIDENCE OF THE BIBLES TRUTHFULNESS ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH?
MAKE SURE OF YOUR CONVICTIONS BEFORE YOU MAKE CONVICTIONS.
I DO WISH YOU THE BEST IN YOUR SEARCH. -

One of the greatest problems for the mankind...
by Erich inone of the greatest problems for the future of our economy is only known by few "insiders".
even wts do not know this matter.
since i'm a patent-expert, it's perhaps my own business to talk about it.

God ordered abortions?
by Julie ini have a question.
i have asked it in a private discussion with a fundamentalist who cowardly ignored the whole premise of the thought and am hoping there is someone here who can address it.. i am aware of the fact that abortion is one hot button topic.
it is not my intention to make this a debate about abortion.

Would it be out of line to think that God is cruel for killing whom he chooses? With the reasoning presented you could also ask why we all suffer for something that someone else did....Adam.
For God to take a life/lifes for reasons he knows much deeper than our reasoning shouldn't make us doubt God.
There are MANY things we do not understand.Sometimes if it dosen't make sense to US we feel it makes no sense period.
Have you ever looked deep into the subject of God's justice?
Give it a deep going over before you decide if he is just or not, and see if when he took a life/lives did not coincide with his justice.
Come on seeker....I know your DYING to jump on this one.
I think this thread is a good honest question but also believe in "digging" for answers before coming to conclusions
