Oh Simon,
That is so sad. Those poor kids.
Its true, we often dont appreciate our health until we are sick.
we've just been watching an absolutely heart wrenching documentary on itv about a little girl with a very rare disease (progeria) which makes her age prematurely at 10 times the normal rate.
she will be like an old woman by the time she is 10.. they have a meet-up where the little kids with the same condition can play and have fun together and seeing their poor little faces looking so happy is a wonder to behold.
i guess it's easy to forget that inside they are still really little kids.
Oh Simon,

for those of you inclined to prayer, i request it in behalf of my dad.
he is in the hospital for a blood clot in his leg, which is potentially quite dangerous.
he cannot move until it is dissolved, if that happens.
((((((((Randy))))))))
Many prayers comming your way.
You and your dad, take care.
what's the worse thing you ever did while drunk (assuming we've all been drunk).........when i was 16, we all got blitzed out of our minds at a witness wedding that happened to take place on hallowe'en.
anyway, on our way home we thought it'd be funny to whip eggs at passing cars.
unfortunately, the first (and last) car i hit was a cruiser.......i realized this as the egg was in mid-air.
This is so funny.
Sure shows what can happen while under the influence.
LB & Animal,
OMG, For some reason, I believe you! That is bad!
Most people who know me, know that after I have had a few drinks, I will laugh hysterically at just about anything. So Xenawarrior, Elsewhere, Sixofnine and anyone else I was with while I was in Dallas, I hope you didnt tell me anything serious or sad only to have me respond with uncontrolled laughter.
my short journey out and now reunited with friends!
in the beginning, my father was a pioneer in the province of quebec and in south western ontario and i always asked why these places and he said it was because the need was great in these regions, im sure it still is!
my mother was in toronto pioneering and was sent here from germany to spread the word and was on her way back when she met dad the super pioneer.
Beans,
Wow! How great to be able to hook up with old friends again.
& I cant believe your dad couldnt poop because you told him you didnt believe. Not good.... Is he ok now? Does this experience have anything to do with your username choice?
(((((myself, Noidea)))))
myself,
This is so touching.
following on from the thread "be nice...", don't you think there would be a lot less disrespect and flame wars if all members had either .
a. attended an apostfest (i.e.
met their fellow posters).
Peace
following on the heels of what bowen said about ray, i began to see a statement that real soon began to get under my skin.
i've read it several times since and i hafta say: that little irritant is beginning to fester more than i care for.
the statement was something in the neighborhood of, "let's not get side-tracked with this franz / bowen fiasco and remember who our real enemy is... the watchtower society!".
Hello!!!
People are dying and being hurt here!
In my dictionary the definition of ENEMY is the following,
ENEMY - 1. Someone who wishes one harm. 2. A force or nation that harms another.
As long as the society continues to enforce the blood doctrine, the shunning policy, and harbor abusers and molesters, they WILL be an enemy to many. The last time I checked, these things killed and hurt.
No matter how much you sugar coat it, this is the sad truth.
my wife hit a deer while driving her new vw passat with less than 300 miles on it.
thats the car with the 300 miles on it.
we dont know how many miles the deer had on it at the time of collision.
BB,
I know exactly what you mean. I live in the Upper Michigan and we have definatly hit our fair share of deer. Looking for those glowing eyes at night isnt the only issue. Deer are sometimes less visible during the day, especially if its snowing.
We took a pic of this deer we saw along side of the road. They are so pretty but overly abundant in our area too.
.
i don't know about the rest of you but i spent the better part of my life believing that i would never die!
i think i have dealt with it....but it still almost seems unnatural.... we are all going to die???
Prisca,
I know what you mean. I watched and held my aunt as she died in the nursing home. She was suffering so much during her last week of life. Im ashamed to admit it but every breath she took was such a struggle that I honestly prayed it would be her last.
I view death much differently now. I am not nearly as afraid of death as I am of suffering.
