Elder doesn't remember being on judicial committee with my wife
by JimmyPage inmy wife was talking to an elder at the meeting recently.
he asked her if she was still on restrictions (for our pre-marital hanky panky).
he went on to imply that they would probably be lifted soon.

Went to District Convention this weekend with no Badge brother talks in 3rd person to Witnesses "Who's this guy? A study? WTF
by Witness 007 ina brother who's a friend of mine introduces me...but i have no "keep on the watch" badge so he stares at me...then where the badge should be...then back at me...turns to the brother with me ignoring me and says "who's this guy?
is he a study.." he had a smug ass#ole look on his face.
like people without badges can't talk.

What's with all the 'Imminent' nonsense?
by AK - Jeff incould it be that the proximity of 2014 is at the heart of it?.
i have no contact with jw's - except on this board - but my wife does at times with her family.
imminent is the cry of the sky for the jw's it seems.. i recall the years leading up to 1975 with a lot of that sort of thing.

Lack of Love - Your Experiences?

the one thing that started me on the journey of questioning my involvement in the organization was the blatant lack of love that i had seen in so many instances.
did i have doctrinal questions - yes!

What does it mean to be truly repentant?
by keyser soze ini ask this because my brother and sister-in-law have recently separated due to her infidelity.
in meeting with the elders they were satisfied that she was repentant, and she avoided being df'd.. admittedly, i wasn't present during this meeting.
knowing her the way i do, i have no doubt there were tears involved.

SEARCHING FOR MEN
by hamsterbait inthe kingdumb misery for august has an item on how to attract men - into da troof.. subsection "searching for men.".
on the one hand they claim that the increases are so huge (in the mundane sense) that they desperately need men.. i took it to indicate that so many with penises are leaving, they are having trouble finding gofors to do their pedo protection work and witch hunting for apostates.. how things appear different now.. whereas before you were not to associate with unbelieving husbands, now they are suggesting helping him build a fence.
it was even suggested playing golf, or at least finding out what he is interested in so you can talk about it.. if you meet a male in the ministry you should talk about what he is really into.

Are They Creating "House Churches"?
by metatron inso, we hear rumors about changes in disfellowshipping - perhaps watering it down ------ together with rumors about making the sunday meeting a totally public meeting i.e.
moving the wt study elsewhere.. could they be trying to create early christian "house" churches?
it has been argued that 1st century christians may have distinguished between a public meeting in which all would attend - and a "house" church in which the disfellowshipped would be banned.. i know they dumped the book study at private homes but wonder if some informal ( they don't get sued) arrangement will be created out of family night.
