Do you Know of any JW Pedophiles who Currently Go Out in Service ?

my wife suggested this thread and i agree it's a good idea to put this out here to find out.

just wanted to give her credit for the idea.. most of the public have no idea that some of the jehovah's witnesses people calling at their door are a previously convicted sex offender or pedophile who may have served hard time in prison for their crime.

it would be interesting to have an informal survey here and get an idea of the sheer numbers of these child molesters who are out on the loose.. in your opinion - how would the public react if they knew that child molesters were regularly calling on their doors ?

Mr Flipper - Great topic, this needs to continue to be discussed, especially with so many JW's making such SMUG remarks against the Catholic Church. One of my best friends is an ex-witness and when I filled him in on just a 5-minute primer about the prevelance of abuse in the JW community, his jaw hit the floor...........if they only knew what a whitewashed grave their own religion is!

I know of several who still engage in the ministry - one of them is registered right on the state web site as an offender

I thought that the policy of not allowing pedophiles to go door-to-door was considered "unscriptural" since if you dont go in the field ministry, you technically arent a "Witness" - they always throw out the "but you have been washed clean" scripture to show how a person can turn around.

I thought the present policy was not to let them go by themselves - which would be total BS anyway, since how in the world could it be enforced?

i know what they don't stand for.. they do not celebrate holidays, believe in getting involved with the "world", vote, take blood transfusions......well, that's not really so.. if a christian (jw) wife was told by her "unbelieving" (non-jw) husband to help decorate the home for christmas, she could do it!

if he wanted her to go to a christmas work party, she could attend.. a jw has to be totally separated from this world.

politics is a no-no.

Even a very simple thing like saying "Jesus Christ" is too much for a JW to handle.

They have to flip it inside out and call him Christ Jesus!

If you say Jesus Christ to most witnesses, they look at you like you were swearing at them, like as if you said "Jesus F--- Christ!" like some people do.......

Seriously? If you do, thats cool! Most Cult purists even roll their eyes at that one!I never thought it was that awful, but my buddies who are die-hard fans HATE it....LOL.

After reading the posts regarding the "SPECIAL" talk this weekend, I was thinking about 1 Thess 5:2,3.

I remember growing up as a kid in the Reagan 80's waiting for the USSR to nuke the USA, or vice-versa. Then, with glasnost and perestroika, SO MANY JW's thought the long awaited cry of "peace and security" was imminent! After all, the GENERATION of 1914 was in their 70's.........

Now when I read 1 Thess 5:2,3 - I think Paul was probably just making a general observation - "hey, you dont know when the Lord is coming - it will be probably at a time that you dont expect."

Instead, as usual, the WTBS has turned that scripture into a DOOMSDAY proclamation!

When discussing 1 Thessalonians5:2, 3, do not make any speculative remarks.

Then the outline reads:

Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy are AWESOME!

I saw them at a small venue a couple of years ago and they kicked major butt.

I loved his third-person temper tantrum on that par-3:

"Tiger Woods - You Idiot.....God D@%MMIT" LOL

I replayed that about 5 times....what an ass!

The thing that makes me so irritated is that Tiger was built by this massive marketing machine, much in the way Michael Jordan was in the 1980's and 1990's by Nike. Everything is so calulated that it all comes off as fake.

Their personal lives are very comparable as well - Jordan was a well-known wandering eye, gambler, and was basically a DB to the fans most of the time, unless the cameras were rolling. I saw him in person many times, and he wouldnt give us kids the time of day. Woods is much the same.

Great, great, great talent as a golfer - but never likable to me.

Would You "Technically" Remain A Jehovah's Witness If There Were No Sanctions Involved?

many of us have drifted.

we know it isn't the truth but we might not have officially resigned as jws.

many catholics are nominal catholics and they are not shunned or avoided because of their not going to church or confession.. would you remain a jw if the organization didn't punish you for your inactivity?.

Minimus, you bring up a thought to me - hasnt it been discussed more recently among the higher-ups that if you are inactive, you are no longer a JW anyway?
