Why not just work somewhere else? Problem solved.
Because every other retailer is out of business because of Wal Mart's predatory business model
wal-mart, which pays a top wage of $12.00+ to its full-time employees, is under attack, once again, by its employees and those who would like to unionize them.. i can't speak to the usa, but here in canada, most wal-mart employees are not full time.
it is mostly a part-time employer, so zero benefits.
in my opinion, that makes the $12.00+ look a lot smaller when you envision the actual paycheque.

i was 24 when i was first appointed as an elder.
i very much respected the old timers, the elders that were basically good guys, family men and who tried to be good examples, although they knew they were far from perfect.
i haven't been to a meeting in about a decade and i wonder if the elders of today are that much different than those of yesteryear.
I know one that I suspect of having secret doubts.

Wal mart brainwashes their employees though their morning worship program. Some of them seriously believe that Walmart is a good employer and that they would fail if they tried to go elsewhere
now i know they have always discouraged marrying outside of their so called 'truth' but since when has it been a punishable offense?
my sister recently married and they are discussing wether her being married to an outsider will stumble others and if they need to reprove or disfellowship her for it..
Is the reason we are gathered together today
visited jw family yesterday.
conversation turns to bethel's recruitment drive for volunteers to help build the new complex in essex and how many pioneers and holding back from volunteering directly with bethel but willing to volunteer thru what was the regional building committee (can't remember what the new name for rbcs is).
the reason?
If the watchtower corporation was a little bit smarter they would allow all members to count time on building projects. Publishers would line up to help build a real estate empire for the religion.
at a recent meeting the scripture deu 25:4 was cited "do not muzzle a threshing bull".. it was applied to how the elders in the cong should be obeyed submissively because, they said, to go against the elders authority would be like muzzling a threshing bull???
just one of those times when i'm secretly going " huh?!
what??".
I don't think that is the official interpretation of that scripture.
however comparing an elder to a bull is an interesting comparison They are both full of $hit
was bored during today's indoctrination lesson, and you guys weren't generating enough content to keep me entertained, so i looked agreed at next week's a bit.
basically the point of the hour lesson is that once the society has completely used someone up, they're to be dumped on next of kin (or anyone who'll take 'em) to take care of 'em.
obviously the wts can't dip into any of the millions/billions that they're sitting on to pay for the support of ailing missionaries - they've got that money earmarked for new cult compounds and paying off victims of the pedophiles that they've protected over the years.. just another in a recent string of articles paying lip service to taking care of those that have given their life to the cult while they do absolutely nothing from their ivory towers.
They're a corporation. Thats what corporations do. Use up people.

in 37 countries 1 around the world, it is illegal for a parent, teacher, or anyone else to spank a child, and 113 countries prohibit corporal punishment in schools.
I became very angry reading this.
the good news is:.
- studying the watchtower over breakfast.
- putting on a suit and tie.
I will not be:
putting on a suit and tie
going to the meeting or field serve-us
i will be:
working overtime for a large sum of money because contrary to what will be taught at the kingdumb hall today, I will grow old in "this system of things" and I will need real money to retire on when I am too old to earn it anymore.
how many times have you asked a jw who has attended a public talk how the talk was, only to be told it was so great!
yet they cannot remember the title nor any one single point except that the brother was "funny" or was good with illustratiions or some other vauge point?
and conventions weren't far off either.
I was at one public talk about cleanliness where the elder delivering it went off the outline to chastise his wife for not keeping a clean house. I mentioned it to one of the brothers after the meeting and he told me he never heard it. I don't know if he wasn't listening or subconsciously blocked it from his memory.
