The 1935 comment is the only thing that stood out here. I thought that was demolished in May 2007.
Wow!

i have been "out", for 7 years now.
i spent two years on this site, reading, posting, sometimes debating.
this site (all the contributors) played a role in helping me deprogram some very deeply held beliefs.
Welcome back. I wasn't on the forum 5 years ago. I hope you have found much happiness over the last 7 years.

so i had to suffer through the ca last weekend, it was rough at 1st, i was actually sick to my stomach the night before, fortunately my little boy kept me occupied during the session and i got to walk around a lot.. the do cracked down on 'true christians' watching vampire movies aka....twilight.
i know this series is hugely popular with a lot of teens and 20somthings, even a young elder and his wife (mostly the wife) are really into them.. he said true christians just don't watch such things.
haha.
I attended my last assembly last year. It feels great.
Think about how funny this is: they gather a crowd of thousands together to tell them they should stay away from facebook, twilight, and normal everyday things..etc..
They are SERIOUSLY out of touch with reality. I am so glad to be free!

in her radio show, dr laura schlesinger said that, as an observant orthodox jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance.
the following response is an open letter to dr. laura, penned by a us resident, which was posted on the internet.
it's funny, as well as informative:.
This is one of the funniest things I have seen in weeks! Great post HOTB!

i know that the wts say`s that the jw`s are ever on the increase, more people, more studies etc.
yet where i live, (a residential suburb of quite a large city), i rarely see the jehovah`s witnesses going from door to door.
i think that they`ve knocked on my door once, and i got a memorial invite pushed through the letter box a few weeks ago.
My former congregation has more pioneers now than it did years ago. So i think they are knocking on more doors than ever here. Also, a zealous pioneer elder moved in a few years ago and has implemented regular telephone witnessing at least one day a week.

i am an unbaptised publisher and something happened (don't ask) and i had a "back room conversation" with 2 elders and they told me that i can't answer in the meetings or give talks for a while.this happened in the 1st feb 2010.my questions are:how long will i have to wait to answer again?do i have to meet with 2 elders again in the back room to talk about getting the priviledges back?what happens if i don't want to meet them in the back room again?if i refuse to be in the thocratic ministry school will/can they tell me that i am no longer an unbaptised publisher?please answer only if you are/was an elder or if you are sure.thanx.
I would read Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz. He was at the very top as a Governing Body member, so he is well familar with the rules and policies of the organization. He also answers lots of questions that you might have never thought of, but that might trouble you later.
It's an excellent book. I recommend it.

was there alot of bro's with brown noses??
?.
The main thing I noticed is that all the late-comers arrived at field circus very early when the CO was there.
cults: mind control and brainwashing.
social psychology and group dynamics.

The mind control issue is the key to it all. Only one JW belief matters: They believe God chose this organization and they must follow it or die at Armageddon. Everything else is trivial, as seen by changing doctrines over 130 years. Truth or bible doesn't matter. Only the belief that God chose this organization.

This is absolutely hilarious. I've only been keeping up for a few weeks now on here, so some of these are new to me.

a quote from "crisis of conscience".
don't be afraid to read it.. .
whatever the initial distress - a distress that sometimes follows the demenaing experience of being interogated by men who, in effect strip one of dignity, make the weight of their authority felt, and presume to judge adversely one's standing with god - however torn one may feel inside, afterward there is a distinct feeling of relief, of peace.
Thanks everybody. I'm glad to be here. It's been quite a journey since my brother left. I shunned him for the most part. I did see him twice in 18 months, and I called once on the phone during that time. So I wasn't a total hardcore shunner, but it was fairly strong shunning. I'm gonna repost the list I made next week sometime, and I plan to add a few other things as well. Also, we will eventually post the full story of everything as to how everybody came out as soon as we can.
Thanks again for the welcomes!
