i've been watching my alcohol intake for dietary reasons.

i've been limiting my consumption to a small half glass of vodka, or a shot or two of bourbon.

alcohol just doesn't do well with the gains i want to make working out.

I did beer tasting as job (very very briefly) - would drink four beers, fill in a survey, get paid. They seemed to be ok with it

In IT virus world don't the geeks who excel in all kind of nastiness get a job offer from Microsoft?

Maybe the most devious, apostate minded ones here will get offered a special lucrative position as protectors of the WTS on the internet??? Nah thinking about it, I guess debator accepted that role and wasn't really up to it.

My JW wife wanted to throw a costume party. Any advice.

to all active and former witnesses (elders especially), i have a question.. .

she indicated that she wanted to include her witness friends as well.

however, given the fact that we are in the month of october and costume parties in this month are associated with halloween, she did not know how to throw a costume party without making it look like a halloween party.

It's just the wrong season - perhaps wait till late December and have a white bearded costume party? or a Lapland theme?

They have significant financial resources. They outsource legal matters when necessary. Their only issue is do they trust the outside source. They have great control over their volunteers.

I HATE this religion

so today was my first sunday meeting that i didn't go with my wife.

as an update she has decided not to move out right now...because she doesn't have anywhere to go.

but she is giving me the silent treatment.

I faded. That meant going to plenty of meetings knowing it was a load of bunkem. You've already sat through plenty in that situation yourself. You're doing this for your family - that's important sh1t. That's no.1

Now if you come back here and say..."well guys, it was a really great meeting and they're not so bad and wonder if a few of you would like to come too next time" then you'll see flack incarnate.

Make sure there are a few cold ones in the fridge, and on the way there and back in the car there are some fun things to say to your kiddo.

Dating a JW for 3 yrs

my bf and i are thinking on getting married.

i posted a foum early this week on whether or not i should get baptized.

i decided not to.. now even though he says he "doesn't care" he got upset last night when i mentioned the subject and how confused i was.

what he means when he says your kids should be allowed to decide means they must be brought up in the truth for their whole lives and then they can choose when they're in their teens. But they won't get a choice just like you're not really getting a choice either. I am so so sorry because this could have been a different situation (if your bf didn't believe it and soon after your wedding fade out of being a JW) but it isn't. Your bf is trying to pressure you, blackmail you into doing something that will commit your whole life to something that will please him and his parents but not you.

lately i've been doing a lot of reflection about my life.

sometimes i would have overwhelming emotions come up ranging from anger, bitterness, sadness to relief.

bloominglotus, do what you think is best, stick with that decision and most importantly - don't worry about it. Have a great day on Saturday and enjoy yourself - you have earned it! This is a single ocassion and they are very young (I thought they might be older) - just plan what you'll do for the next time and the long term.
