  i have a pimo relative who lives in nz.

  as far as public awareness, with regard to the jws, it was basically a big nothing burger.

  I find THIS -- or, in fact, any sports player who thanks God for their victory -- to be the most presumptuous claim to make in public!

  Are the really suggesting that God found the time and considered their personal sports victory SO important that He was too damn busy to answer the prayer of a child being raped? Or, a family being slaughtered by thieves? Or, a mother praying for remission of the cancer that is slowly eating away and killing her child?
  

  Those people are egomaniacs and think WAY TOO MUCH of themselves. I hate to break it to them, but God doesn't give a pfuck about them or their goal/accomplishment.

  the new class action lawsuit against the watchtower for having covered up child sexual abuse will begin in court on may 13-14-15, 2024 in the province of ontario, canada.

  it is not the same as in the province of quebec because the laws aren't the same.

  IMO the WTS/GB is counting on the fact that as enough time passes they will "get past" all the CSA liability.

  They have restructured (reworded) policy so that the bOrg has no liability in caring for the JW children in their care (or NOT in their care, which is what they claim). They believe they have taken the appropriate LEGAL steps to CYA. So, bottom line, if they can just live through the old CSA lawsuits -- deny, deny, deny, drag them out, fight for every dollar as though it's their final dollar, exhaust the plaintiff's attorney (who can't get paid until there is a settlement or judgement), and . . . . finally negotiate the lowest settlement possible (so the plaintiff & their attorneys FINALLY get some cash) AND insist on a NDA. NEVER will this shit be made public! Transparency is NOT allowed.

  This discussion board attracts all sorts of people; the only thing we have in common is an interest in Jehovah's Witnesses. Some are informative, clear-thinking individuals. Some are not, but open to contrary thoughts. And then there are 'the prophets' who promote all sorts of predictions and off the wall beliefs.

  Honest, guys, God did not appoint you to be modern-day prophets. And as expositors, you fail. As an earlier comment said: "when these predictions do not lead to divine intervention and the establishment of god's kingdom, people will learn their lesson and stop making predictions will wait for the next 'time of distress' and make the same predictions all over again."

  Have 3 buildings disappeared from the new Italian Bethel under construction since 2019? What happened to them?

  if you visit the official jw website and search for bologna it will take you to some articles and 1 video.

  the site shows a building completed in 2020 with 41 apartments, there is a photo with alleged bethelites looking out from the balconies and waving.

  WTS is downsizing everywhere. They know they are under attack, but they foolishly believe that it is in fulfillment of their ridiculous interpretation of scripture where their God will swoop in and rescue them and then destroy their persecutors.

  From this I understand that disfellowshipping that the person should be treated as if they were dead and continues that concept by saying thus a disfellowshipped person should not be spoken to or treated like they are live. I wonder if they still believe this.

  I'd say they still believe all that. However, Caesar has forced them to lie about it use Theocratic Warfare strategies so as to appear they have changed their policy toward anyone removed from or leaving their little Cult.

  A PIMO relative, who lives in New Zealand, mentioned to me that both in the papers ,and on the tv news stations, the Jehovah’s Witnesses didn’t even get mentioned.

  One thing that elders are not aware of, and should be is personal civil and criminal liability for some of the harms that they do. Does the congregation offer you liability insurance in case of a lawsuit? Elders are being played by the watchtower corporation. -- Gorb

  Should some matter be mishandled enough to yield a lawsuit, I suppose the local elders can hope that the attorneys are really after the "deep pockets" of Watchtower. Attorneys are seeking to tap the big money -- bigger than the average JW has bankrolled (unless he is one of the few highroller JWs).
