it would sound like they are hinting at a change in thinking.. in my opinion, any such change would be yet another slap in the face to faithful pimis along with those other recent changes.. there are so many heartfelt responses on that thread and a lot of justified anger.. don’t know what to say except that i’m so glad i never listened to the religion all those years ago.

the entire internal religious culture of the watchtower organization is harmful for its current members.
the culture seems to traverse ethnic and national barriers.
however, the worst of each culture all around the world appears to have a symbiotic relationship with the religion in an attempt to make the org fanciful in every nation and locality.
Blondie, I'm sure there are still some self-righteous, hard-liners that still go door-to-door (or at least drive around all day between their Starbucks coffee break and their early lunch at McDonalds) and if she is still alive, I'll bet old Sister Dyhard still does her Magazine Route every Saturday.

The old JW culture as we knew it IS GONE!
JWs meet at the KHall for Field Circus preparation -- NOT! They meet to have letter writing groups. It's like a church quilting bee even with coffee & snacks. EXCEPT, no one gets a quilt. NOTHING is really accomplished. But at least they are not burning up $3.00-$4.00/gal gasoline.
The other "ministry" is the Cart Ministry.

speaking to an old elder friend recently about his decision to home school his high school aged kids.. he claims that here in australia, about 30% of the students that log into online classrooms are jw's.
the others are disabled kids - who cant physically attend class and the rest are long distance students.. another generation of under-educated jw kids on the way..
I know some homeschooled kids who are exceptional. Not JWs. And the parents were SERIOUS about homeschooling.
Most homeschooled JW kids with whom I am acquainted are NOT exceptional. Many just went through the motions of homeschooling. Field Circus was Field Trips. Meeting preparation was "reading". TMS talks was "speech class". I'd say at least half did take and pass a GED. Since none went on to college, it has been all they needed. All are in basic manual labor work fields. Some just getting by. Some in union trades and doing great financially.
in a civil complaint filed under seal and unsealed nearly two months ago, 11 congregations accuse the activist of violating federal, pennsylvania and maryland wiretap statutes.
in the course of the ongoing statewide grand jury investigation, all jw congregations in pennsylvania were subpoenaed to produce records pertaining to child sexual abuse.
so, meetings were arranged, county by county, between lawyers and elders on how to deal with the subpoenas.
WT's "free" lawyers gives them an advantage to sue, sue, sue and attempt to wear out the other parties. If they can be charged for the other parties' attorney fees should they lose, perhaps they would look at it differently.

this is a long post, sorry for the rant, but i have been debating posting this for a while.
I am building some wealth, not for me, not for the JW but for my children and theirs.
That's been our goal. Helping our children & grandchildren have a better "start" and more successful future (college if desired). Happily they have their own social networks outside of the JW system.
