I have had this type of discussion with my hubby. It seems that we were meant to die. Every other living thing on earth has died or is in a dying state, from dinosaurs to plants, Adam and Eve. It is just the cirlce of life. It doesn't freak me out anymore. Acceptance is freeing.

A little update

hello everybody, even though i don't post a lot, i visit and read the threads on this site quite frequently.. wanted to give you a little update and ask for some advice at the same time.

since my exit, about 2 years ago, everything had been almost perfect.

i was living on my own, making new friends, elders from my old hall weren't bothering me at all, i was enjoying life.

Bucholz-You could ask your little brother questions that come from the Bible Stories book, such as 'Why do you think Jehovah let Aaron make a golden calf to worship and he didn't get punished, but the man who was picking up wood on the Sabbath Day stoned to death?' 'Which do you think was the worse sin, leading a whole bunch of people astray from worshipping God, or trying to make a fire to cook your food?'

Use critical thinking questions and reasoning, let him work the answers out for himself though, so your mom can't say that you've been telling him apostate things.

it's some kind of funny... i was the perfect little ass, even that i never believe it all.. there was something that doesn't sound right... but, i was little, i was with my family, i never believe that my family will make me adopt a cult.

well i get batized in my mid teen years, i was the exemplar, ms at 19, even serve my time at bethel.

get married to a pioneer, start a spiritual family, get my 2 kids.

Why elders' wives are such gossipers...

i have a theory as to why elders' wives gossip so much.

i believe a big part of it has to do with the conversation running dry (between themselves and their elder husbands) after so many years of marriage.

since they don't get to spend too much "quality time" together (because of the elder husband's hamster wheel schedule), when they do have some intimate time alone, the elder's wives will invaribly attempt to engage their husbands in any kind of interchange.

While I was never an elder's wife and never was in the 'know' about things, it does cause me to wonder: If you weren't supposed to be talking about people and what was going on, just what were you supposed to be talking about? There is only so much you can say about the latest Watchtower. People want to know about other people, it is just natural human interest-look at the TV shows that document crimes, i.e. 48 Hours, Dateline and so on.

We all want to know who the pedophiles are in the cong., you are not going to find that out unless someone tells, I am grateful when I hear that someone told that there is a pedophile in a cong.

Re: paragraph 5, never, ever thought of Abraham's lie as not trusting Jehovah would protect him and keep him safe from harm so he could enjoy his 'promise'. But that really does seem to be the case doesn't it? Great observation blondie!

Of Course He Was Great-He had a great appetite for sex, probably the most prolific wife/sex slave (concubines) accumulator in the world. That's pretty great...men in the middle east have been trying to catch-up with his numbers ever since.

Supposedly, sons weren't supposed to pay for the sins of their fathers (don't remember the scripture location), yet when the father is faithful, his children will be killed to test his faithfulness. So the perfection of the fathers could lead to the death of the children. Poor Job, 'he couldn't win for losing', as my grandma would say.

Extremely sad. The parents leave Mexico for a better life in 'Sunny California' and then is subjected to this senseless and cruel act of what appears to be racism. My heart breaks for this poor family.
