  This is funny. There are now so many threads on "how to be nice to each other and newbies", I am getting worried. I feel a song from "The Sound of Music" coming on.....Doe a Deer I think....

  When I first lurked, the flame wars were hot and steady. Many of those posters are gone. Many still post here. I stayed, watched and decided who was a dickhead and who was not.

  Frankly, my opinion of those that are still here has not changed. There are jerks, nice people and everything in between. There are young people who feel that their 20 years on earth has given them the insight and perspective to run the world. Go for it. (That, BTW, is sarcasm)

  There are always going to be disagreements. Newbies will realize this when they take a step back and think. "Oh, yeah. People on a DB are like they are in life. Jerks, nice and in-between. I just have to learn to deal with it. Like everything else."

  Since he is *from here*, everyone is pretty excited.

  It is great when an underdog wins. And on such a hard course! And links style! I hope he keeps on winning and shows the critics that he was not a one hit wonder.

  Hi Guest!

  I cannot believe Ben Curtis Won!!

  The area he grew up is just north of Columbus, where I am. The local news people were at his parents golf club yesterday to film, just in case, he did well. Local boy roars out of obscurity. After playing the Hooters Tour last year, I don't think anyone knew he existed.

  Unbelievable! My husband actually got teary eyed watching the local kid do so well.

  The front page of the Columbus Dispatch is running that story. They are calling him "Big Ben" because he went and did a sight seeing tour on Monday, before golfing! He liked Big Ben the best! What a great story.

  We have been golfing about once per week. My husband is golfing 3 times....he walks the course once or twice a week and on Saturday or Sunday, he and I go out and walk it. What a work out!

  I use one of those little carts to *drag* my clubs. He is actually carrying his. Whew!!

  My game has gotten a lot better. No lessons yet. I am finally getting better with my irons and realizing I am really bad with the woods. I need to practice, practice with those.

  The course finally dried out from all the raid and is so beautiful. Going out and walking and listening to the birds sing and the leaves rustle is so relaxing.

  It is so great to read about women like Hilary and Michele Wie. They are starting young and getting more and more opportunities. It is even funnier that Hilary said she and her husband don't golf. What a great way to make a living, though!

  Those pesky nieghbors!

  alright who here has one of those pesky nieghbors to deal with?

  i have mine across the street and boy are they a hoot.

  they crank about everything.

  We live in a newer subdividivision. We are on a court, so the homes behind ours are not really straight behind. Everything is angled.

  When we are on our deck and look to the left, the neighbor has the neighborhood eyesore. In a 3 year old home!

  He has 2 riding mowers. He can only fit one in the garage, so he parks the other in the driveway. (He has a 3 car garage, so ??)

  Next, he put up a chicken wire fence around the backside of the home. This is so he can open the door, let out the toy poodle and the dog won't run away. Now he has started to accumulate stuff he doesn't seem to know what to do with and just put it behind his home.

  The chicken wire is against the code and he has had every neighbor come by and ask him to take it down. He said he won't. Sue him.

  Since there are a few lots available still, the subdivision is still being held, legally, by a holding company, which will not *enforce* rules like the chicken wire, no one can or will take him to court. Yet.

  Recently he installed flood lights. That shine directly on to our home. He says that they are on a timer, however, whenever my husband walks over and asks him to turn them off, magically, they go off when he hits the button. Never is there motion when they go on. We will be sitting on our deck, enjoying the evening, when WHAM! Bright lights in your face.

  Another one of his little tricks is to open his bedroom blinds, turn on the lights and parade back and forth NAKED!!!

  We were having a barbeque last year and it was after dark when one of our female friends said "OMG! Look at that! He is naked!"

  We all got quite an eyeful. The man does this now anytime we have company and are on the deck. He makes it a point to wait til dark, turn out the lights on his house, go up to the bedroom, open the blinds, turn on the lights in the bedroom and walk back and forth for about 5-10 minutes. I don't know what his wife is doing while he is doing is *show*.

  The funniest part? He is a dentist.

  Would you want this man putting his hand in your mouth?

  His nickname is now The naked Dentist.

  Can a witness receive a massage?

  just wondering if witnesses are aloud to go and receive a massage and be touched by other than their spouse?

  i'm talking about a normal clean massage here, don't get me wrong.. .

  W.P, there was a thread a about a week ago that had a quote from one of the WTS publications (very recent) stating that *young people* need to be careful with cell phones and Text Messaging. It can lead to impure thoughts, which of course, will lead to fornication!

  Text messages are like AOL instant messanger, but on your cell phone. I don't use it, however, it is very popular. Very easy way to stay in touch with out making an actual phone call. I guess *young people* (read teenagers) are using them in school and rather than calling they are having text message banter.

  I wish I knew what the thread was. I'll try to find it and post. It was funny!
