They're Just Running Out the Clock!
by metatron inin some months to come, i expect to run into a lot of old witness friends.. i think i need a short explanation of my view of the organization - that sums things up.
without provoking outrage.. .
"the organization is run by a bunch of old guys and they're just running out the clock.".

Metatron,
I'd say that they are a mid-nineteenth century millenarian sect which time has rendered irrelevant.

Very interesting statistics, especially the graph produced by Elsewhere.
The graph shows a narrowing of the range between expected and actual cultists prior to 1975 and a widening of the gap post 1975. Again there is a narrowing of the gap in the eighties. But bad news for the printing company as we see a late nineties gap widening. This is exactly what we would expect.
The only solution for the executives of the printing company is to come up with a new date for the end of the world. If they don't they can expect to see a widening of the gap between expected cultists and actual cultists to continue to grow.

The End of This System of Things Part I of 3
Is the world as we know it coming to an end soon?
How soon?
?Truly I say to YOU that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur. Heaven and Earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.?
(Matthew 24:34-35)
The generation in question is the generation that was born in 1914. Since everyone born between 1914-1932 (roughly a generation) are now between 60-80, time is running out right now.
It does not seem possible, does it?
I guess either our cultist is bad at math (the people born between 1914-1932 would be between 72-90) or he or she is recycling "Old Light."

How YOU Humiliate the Watchtower (4/1/04)
by metatron intake a good look at the april 1, '04 watchtower, with its garish 'wild beast' on the cover.. now, wouldn't this be a perfect opportunity to show a picture of the un building being .
destroyed at armageddon?
wouldn't be a good idea to blast the churches of christendom.

This post shows the dilemma that the Watchtower organization faces. The number one goal of all organizations is self perpetuation. This is difficult to do in changing times. Especially when you are dogmatic about your organization being the only "true" organization.
I am sure that the lawyers in Brooklyn want very much to curry favor with the UN in order to open up new markets to literature sales. However the old timers (who will soon be spinning with the Judge) are resistant to change. As a result there is a great deal of inner stress on the organization, kind of like the pressure that builds up before an earthquake.
I don't think this pressure will destroy the organization as there will always be people willing to sell literature in return for everlasting life. As Mr. Lincoln said, "You can fool some of the people all of the time." But I do think interesting days are ahead for the printing company and its volunteer sales force.

Similarities between Best Buy (USA) and WTS
by dustyb ini used to work at best buy (an electronics retailer in the usa) and i thought about it today.
not so much working there, but how you got paid.
used to if you were an electronic salesman at bby you got paid on commission, but in 1996 the policy changed.

Yeah, but at Best Buy you can get a cool DVD burner. Try getting one of those at the Kingdom Hall!

Proof You're in a Cult - -----Self-Reference!
by metatron inwhile there are many definitions of what a cult is, one of the more disturbing features of a deceptive religion has.
got to be the habit of "proof" by self-reference.. go to any "public talk" and take note of how the speaker quotes from the watchtower to "prove" a point!
worsening world conditions, growing crime and the 'worse and worse' fallacy can all be "proved" as long as you keep.

The mantra of the self-appointed "faithful and discreet slave:"
How do we know we have the truth?
Because we're God's organization!
How do we know we're God's organization?
Because we have the truth!
Keep repeating until your followers become mind-numbed cult zombies.
