  have any of u guys done telemarketing witnessing b4?

  i've just started to come up with this random topic in my head and some of good/bad experiences with telephone witnessing.

  ive done it b4 but i was so uncomfortable calling ppl and telling them about the bible and stuff.

  sometimes the person on the other end of the line would ask me how i got that number ?or how do u know my name?

  Yeah....(blush) I did this too.

  I had been laid up for quite a while with a bad injury and when I was off the crutches and out of the wheelchair---I was "encouraged" to join the older ones for this thrilling afternoon activity one day a week. We got dressed head to toe in meeting clothes (wouldn't want to insult Jehovah by wearing slacks and a nice sweater on a winters day) and we sat around a JWs dining room table, passing the phone around and going into our WTS-approved speil. I can't recall that ONE JWs got a return visit OR was able to place anything.

  I spent a LOT of time writing letters.....for many years. We have long and very rough winters here and to "keep up my hours" I often resorted to doing this. I was by myself....and did not feel it was mandatory that I dress in the usual meeting clothes.

  A fair and reasonable question for Jehovah's Witnesses

  your organization has always been intently focused on "witnessing" and this includes going right up to strangers homes, knocking on their door attempting to engage them in a discussion of their beliefs.

  you come prepared to point out the error of whatever faith they hold.

  doctrines such as immortality of the soul, the trinity and eternal torment in hell you declare as false teachings and can back up your assertions with scriptures and skilled argument.

  Welcome Yourmomma!

  When you said that you must have missed the memo stating that "all JWs must accept whatever doctrines and policies currently teach"....there IS a WT article on just this idea that I cannot find at this moment. Maybe "Confession" or someone else could look this up and post it so you could see it.

  We were always told (and boasted of) the UNITY that ALL JWs had....and any that did NOT carry these same beliefs, were markd or considered "weak".....even "bad association" if they made their thoughts and ideas known.

  whats that feeling get you besides some wine and crackers once a year? if your annointed you CANT go to brooklyn and declare yourself one of the GB. the elders DONT listen to you......... so whats the *&^%%$# point?

  you get so many crazies pretending to be OF the annointed........... and the elders refuse to count them even tho they drink of the wine and eat of the bread. so you can feel your annointed but if your elders dont belive you............. then your officially NOT.

  its all smoke and mirrors.............. anyone want some kool aid?

  When I was only "studying" I recall being told that there were two of the remant in our Kingdom Hall....and one that took the emblems but was not really considered as "the real thing" because he had been DFed and also had some mental problems. I learned eraly on that the elders DID "decide" who was worthy and who was not.

  I also used to wonder why the annointed in the congregations had absolutly ZERO INPUT in what the Society printed and taught, but the ones sitting in Brooklyn got all the accolades. I STILL wonder about how they explain that.

  The WTS enjoys boasting that "ONLY THEY" have the truth and ONLY THEY....ARE the truth. It becomes more difficult to believe this when you see how often over the years, they have CHANGED the truth! Either they TEACH the truth---or they do not.

  Whatever they are teaching (this week or this month) should be available for us to look over and to see what our JW loved ones and relatives are "studying" and gulping down as Gospel truth. If it IS truth....why the resistance iin allowing US to review it? If it is "lifesaving information" meant for ALL.....precisely what is your problem with this?

  Oh...and thank you AO for this "provision".

  I feel it would be quite interesting to see both the public and private magazines and then be able to discern if they both say the same things. We already know how the WTS has used its own form of doubletalk----just look at the "subtle but meaningful" differences between the 1972 baptism vows and the ones used since 1985. THIS would give people an idea of how "just a few words" can be changed to alter the way things are understood. (Or actually MISunderstood)

  We have to pay MORE THAN THE USUAL ATTENTION" to anything the WTS prints....and this weird ploy of having two different magazines for two sets of people....makes us sit up and PAY this attention.

  Would You Be Putting 2+2 together if You Were Still a Witness?

  it occurred to me that if i were still a believing jehovahs witness, i would be thinking that maybe.just maybe.the watch tower bible & tract society, inc. has gone apostate and is guiding its flock off a cliff.. first..all the corporations that were formed separating everything in the eary 2000s.

  what is the real reason for doing that?.

  second..their association with the united nations.. third.their changes on major doctrines.. fourth.the pedophile issue and subsequent cover-up.

  Wow....I would like to think that I was AWAKING! to the harsh realities of the WTS (given all that I know now), but quite frankly....I do not know that I would have. Being that I bought into EVERYTHING the WTS uttered, and had I done as I was told (no internet---no outside research) I would never have heard of the UN fiasco, the Mexico/Malawi business, the Tacome Dome parking scandal, or the " Jehovah's provision of his divine donation arrangement" because primarily, the WTS didn't want to pay Caesar's things to Caesar as they warn everyone else to do.

  Had I never known about all these things.....I am ashamed to admit that I most likely would not have looked any deeper into anything else.

  How can anyone look back on ALL the blunders, terrible mistakes and horrible advice that has been printed by the WTS as "truth".....and STILL look forward to whatever they say in the future to BE truth? It makes absolutely NO sense at all. If God is looking for those who worship with spirit and truth....he will NOT be looking inside the Watchtower Society! THEY cannot seem to make up their minds on what the current "truth" is!

  This sounds like it could be quite fascinating! What a great opportunity to present a collage of all those "armageddon" drawings by WTS artists that showed how the "worldly people" will fare.
