  2024 year Highlights: JWs hit 9 million Publishers

  watchtower put out some highlights for the 2024 service year:.

  average publishers: 8,828,124. peak publishers: 9,043,460. a 43.2 percent increase in "those who returned to jehovah", meaning 65,816 were reinstated.

  baptized: 296,267. memorial attendance: 21,119,442. missing stat: number of partakers .. womp womp.

  I wonder if they started counting 'inactive' publishers that faded. No hour requirement, not df or da, add 'em back as a publisher.

  Attended JW funeral today

  but jehovah’s witnesses know how to turn every moment into an opportunity to share their message.. during funerals, they weave in their teachings of hope and resurrection, offering comfort and, at the same time, presenting their beliefs to attendees who may not be part of the faith.

  last one I went to I timed how long they talked about the deceased. 55 seconds. Less than a minute of the hour long funeral. Name, age, date they passed, how long they were a JW, not much else.

  Movies about JWs

  i have seen many movies or shows that make a passing reference to jehovah's witnesses but very few dwell on jws.

  some like a deadly devotion episode i saw once tells a true story but the portal of jws is all wrong.

  Are you glad you got the Covid Vaccine? Did it help?

  i didn’t get the covid vaccine, but i admit, i was scared as shit i made the wrong decision because there was so much confusion out there.

  practically all my family and most of my friends took the vaccine because everyone was depending on those in charge to speak the truth.

  now a lot of them are sick, and they can't figure out why.

  I worked in a nursing home before and during covid. We had 10 people die of covid. Before they got covid they were not in great health and a cold, the flu, or a spicy burrito might have done them in.

  A couple years before covid we had 6 people pass in the week between Christmas and New years. It was like they just didn't want to see the next year. Its a nursing home. Unfortunately people die there all the time. Not trying to be cold. Our covid deaths weren't out of line with any other year.

  Saw a lot of stupidity during covid. Got threatened with termination if i didn't clean shave my face. "CDC says you can't have a mask properly sealed in your face with a beard". You just did my face mask fit test right? I passed the fit test with a mask on my bearded face right? CDC says you can't. But you just fit tested me, you performed the test and did everything you could to try to get me to fail, I saw how differently you performed the fit test on non bearded people, you tried to get mine to fail and it didn't. My mask properly seals with my neatly trimmed beard.

  Doesn't matter shave clean or your fired.

  Found an online Dr, got a Dr note saying I can't shave and went to HR. Didn't shave. Didn't get fired.

  my jw parents followed the rules and thought they were doing jehovahs will by denying me participation in sports.

  Still trying to understand why my JW parents wouldn't let me do sports in school because of the association with worldly people but allowed, encouraged and helped me participate in Olympics of the Mind. Even had the bad association worldly kids over to the house to do that.

  Just shut my little kid mouth and enjoyed what I could do even if it didn't make sense because I knew if I questioned it what would happen.

  become a circuit overseer in your mid to late 20's.

  you would have had to qualify as an elder previously.

  this would mean the male would have had to have been an elder in his early 20's.

  Tight pants told us, if you're not a MS in your early 20's who would want to be around you. Guess they'll have to throw some new light at that.

  If your not an MS by your teens, an elder before you can buy beer, and a CO by 25 you might as well be an apostate.

  Stan - I don't for sure. I would hope my family would have said something to me. There was absolutely no contact for months after my last meeting. A couple elders stopped by to invite me to a 'special' talk some Sunday later in the year. I said thanks for stopping by and letting me know. Left it at that. If they df you don't they have to let you know of the process even if you don't go? Nothing hinting from me that I was no longer a jw in word or writing. Nothing in writing from them either.

  Re-activate me?

  there was a knock at my door and i thought it was my take-away being delivered.. long story short, it was 2 elders calling to see me.

  i guess to re-activate me.

  once they said who they were i recognised them.

  Is this an official thing they're doing now? Going to everyone that has left? Ive moved over an hour away and my phone number has changed but still have family in the same congregation. So I know they can get my contact information. Would they forward it to the local congregation? Every once in a while my family will say Bro _____ asked how you are doing.

  I don't know if this is going to change how they act. Maybe some will.

  My last meeting was 9 years ago this 4th of July weekend. Just stopped, cold turkey stopped. No conversation with anyone about why, no fading. One meeting I was there, the next gone. Not DF'd, not disassociated, no 'wrongdoing', no apostate attitudes, just gone.

  Over the next couple of years while I still lived in the same small town, I saw a witness occasionally at the grocery store. Every time it was the same thing, eye contact from down the aisle, they would immediately turn around and go the other direction to avoid me.

  Walked into a business where a bunch of sisters were sitting together. One of them said OH my he's here and they all got up and immediately left.

  If you are not a publisher in good standing or better you should be avoided. Just being in sight of a used to be publisher is enough to be adversely effected by their evil influence unless you are at the KH. Even then the evil used to be publisher must come in at the last minute, sit in the back close to the exit door so they can immediately leave after the closing prayer so they can't spread their evil influence.

  So now they can say hi. Nothing else will change in their heads. Ex pubs are the human reincarnation of Satan himself. It's ingrained in the brains. Their Bible trained conscious tells them this.

  I can see it already. Say Hi is ok. Say Hi, how are you and you're in the back room getting counseled for excessively communicating.
