i just wanted to express my thanks to everyone who responded to my desperate post.

i'm not usually one to air my dirty laundry, but i just felt so low and helpless.

Glad you're feeling a little better. You'll see, it will get a little easier each day that passes. I'm glad we were all here on this forum and that we have it available to get support from others when we need it.

she left the religion three years ago just about the same time as robert and janet.

her husband is not a jw but did attend the occasional meeting.

Dear Sharon and family,

Let me add my sincere condolences to the others. Any of us who left the JW organization gave up family and friends...or those who are thinking of leaving of leaving are contemplating that loss. It is terrible.

You had that ripped away from you. Your sister and her children are gone...and not by their choice or yours. I was a witness for 35 years, and all my relatives save my sister are still in and faithfully shun me and my children. But at least I have the comfort of knowing that my own children will now never have to make that choice too. I got them out in time, and they now have a chance to lead happy normal lives. I hope the same can be true for you and the rest of your family. I wish there was more I could say. Please know that you are not alone and there are many out here who would gladly offer you support and encouragement.

It's a faint hope,

but I would like to see everyone, including Skally and Farkel, stop and think about the words they are typing out before hitting the enter key. Myself included. What is the reason for it? sometimes that is all we have to ask.

Andi,

I totally understand your frustration with the flame wars, and the seemingly endless line of retorts to insults directed at a poster.

However, I respectfully point out that you might feel a little differently when it is directed at you. Skally has a good point. Farkel betrayed her confidences here on the board. Why would she ask him anything else in a private email when he's the one who brought it to the board?

And as Larc so playfully pointed out emails are not private either.

how many of you cut out coupons to save money on your groceries.

well, when we had three hungry teenagers at home, we sure did.

With three teenage boys in the house, you don't even want to know what our grocery bill looks like. I used to do coupons, but I absolutely hated spending the time to cut them out, and then pick out the right product at the store to apply it to. Plus, I found that more than half the time, the coupon is for the most expensive brand of any particular product, which I normally wouldn't buy anyway.

Now, with super WalMart close by...and open 24 hours...I find that I can save my precious time and still save money on groceries.

Mothers-In-Law---GRRRRR!

last week i spoke to my mother-in-law for the first time since visiting her ugly ass, at christmas, in florida.

i, unfortuantly, picked up the telephone without checking caller id.

it was not her usual sunday evening call.

Ok Ok, I heard you. Hey, what works for one person doesn't work for another. For myself, I don't put up with high maintenance people any more in my life...period. End of discussion. But it took me 37 years to get to that point, and I don't like to assume other people are there and that what works for me will work for them.
