Why are you focusing on what people do? You let people stumble you?

New GB member Judy Jedele critizing Job's "humility" while wearing $20,000 Rolex, gold cuff links, coloured suit. Incredible!
by WingCommander ini swear, you can't make this shit up!
for years and years growing up in this cult, i had to constantly hear from my parents, from the stage, in the literature, about "keeping your eye simple", not being "materialistic", not "having a showy display of one's wealth.
" of course, this never seemed to apply to the wealthy business owning elduhzzzz who ran and lorded it out over the congregations, but i digress.

This should also apply to medical issues and higher education because generally people would not discuss medical issues with other or even educational things.
Also, Witness women shouldn't have adult toys either. No need for that stuff. -

Don't you just love LITERATURE truths?
by BoogerMan inas jw's we swallowed such concoctions for years - without a single scripture provided as proof!.
w71 12/15 p. 759 - "apparently, the apostle peter was the chairman of the governing body on the festival day of pentecost of 33 c.e., and the disciple james, the half brother of jesus christ, was the chairman at a later date, according to the account in acts of apostles.
from this, and from what historical evidence there is available, the chairmanship of the governing body rotated.".

The apostles and older men there were not acting as a governing body. They were not seeking or making new rules or laws.

144,000 + 1 kings
by moomanchu ini wonder why so many kings are needed for the millennial reign?
the almighty governing body says 24,000,000,000 people combined from those resurrected and the survivors of the big 'a' could make it into paradise.
that gives you 1 king for every 166,665 persons.

If there are 24 billion people to be resurrected and there are 365,000 days in 1000 year reign, that means that 65,753 people will be resurrected each day. Jesus spreads the work and delegates that to the 144,000 to assist.
And Blonde, why does it matter what Rutherford taught?
I like to not look at who taught want and stick to the realities.

What will happen to the Watchtower Religion now that Trump has Withdrawn from certain aspects of the United Nations.
by liam inso trump has signed an executive order to withdraw from the united nations human rights council, a refugee organization, some others parts as well and calls for a review of american involvement in funding of the united nations.
he said the united nations has not been living to its potential and they need to get their act together or just dissolve the organization completely.
he said america will continue to be a part of the un but it's tiring that the united states is the country that funds most of the monies and that can't continue.

How Do JWs Understand Salvation & What Is Needed to Obtain It?
by LauraLynn infrom my experience within the jw organization, i understood that salvation meant a person accepted the teachings of the wbts without question as the "faithful and discrete slave," thereby placing their trust in them, not jesus christ.
salvation consisted of being found "righteous" by jehovah and resurrected to everlasting life in an earthly paradise.
to obtain this salvation, one needed to obey the organization's teachings, remain a faithful jw, and lead a moral life.

Mainstream teaching?
Is that supposed to be better?
Mainstream just means that it is popular which means that it is not right.

UNBELIEVABLE! Actual chat conversation with an active pioneer JW.

Are we supposed to read that and care?
That's as dumb as those youtube videos about how someone stumped one of Jehovah's Witnesses as if one person brings everything down. Do better.

Beliefs clarified - A big fat WTF for 2025
by ukpimo injehovah’s witnesses have an official page for clarified beliefs they encourage elders, ministerial servants, regular pioneers, as well as all the rest of the elite, to keep up to date with:.
https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1200277174.
2025 has a curious clarification:.

"The Bible does not provide details as to what sexual practices between a husband and a wife should be considered clean or unclean."
Why does it matter what the Bible provides as for details?
The reason that they always refer to the Bible is that they need an authority to look to. But yet it's not necessary.

Rekindled Light — The Narrative Structure of the Hexaemeron (Genesis 1:1–31)
by Mebaqqer2 ini used to comment here many years ago when i had an interest in biblical research in relation to jehovah’s witnesses.
these days my biblical research is little concerned with jehovah’s witnesses.
i feel my time is better spent researching the diachronistic development of the biblical text and ascertaining what the biblical writers and editors intended in the times in which they lived.. i have recently placed a summary diagram for a paper that i have written with original research entitled the narrative structure of the hexaemeron on academia.edu.

You all are wrong about this.
There were no 6 or 8 days of creation.
Moses was given visions of the creation process over 6 of his days. So those 6 days were 24 hours long but each day covered millions of years during those visions. God does not have mornings and evenings or days, but Moses did. It was all written from his perspective.

There is no salvation.
People have been dying for millenia
Salvation will come with the resurrection.
