i'm sure we could all write long paragraphs about this question, but in a few words, what is your biggest regret, or frustration in life due to being a witness?.
what missed opportunities did it cost you?
.
No regrets really...Things could have been different, but then again, they could have been a helluva lot worse! I always crack up when I hear family members say, "If I wasn't a witness...." I have a family member who always said something like, "If I hadn't been a witness, I would have been a millionaire." or another who says, "I would have been famous." Well, yeah, maybe...but, truthfully, wherever you are in life right now, be happy you have a life to live. Live each day with purpose. Be happy that you recognized that it was all malarkey while you still have the chance to do something that will make your life meaningful.

just curious.
add your quotes with no commentary if you like, it should be obvious why you agree.. the dangers of being deceivedthe really sad fact is that very often the person who is deceived or deluded tends to hold on to his belief in spite of strong evidence proving otherwise.
perhaps he gets so emotionally attached to his belief that he simply shuts his eyes and closes his ears to any evidence that might challenge it.. the watchtower, 01/09/ 2010 p10/11.

the gb can kiss my ass.. i'm writing "0" on the little slip of paper they pass out.. hey here's a thought:.
you know that "widow's might" stuff they're always talking about?
well i'm pretty dang sure that the lady was giving from the heart not because she filled out some dumba$$ piece of paper pledging two small coins several months previous!.
I think the letter says something about "reasonably" Well, I will contribute zero dollars per month. I think that's reasonable.

but never gave it to the elders or anyone in the congregation?

Several times. One version was long winded with scripture and verse, excerpts of old magazines and publications. It took days to write. Others are short, some just several lines. I must admit the long version was cathartic in that it convinced me that this was not the TRUTH as it purported to being. I realized, later of course, that absolutely no one was going to read it with any real seriousness. They would simply look for the expression of "disassociation," highlight it, put it in a file or scan it, then send a letter to the BOE and tell them to give a talk about the "dangers" of independent thinking, apostate material on the internet, and grumbling about Jehovah's appointed channel.

this is a rumor i heard back in november, it comes to me third or fourth-hand.
feel free to poke holes.
i have many doubts about this myself.
Londo,
Although nothing would really amaze me about the way this ORG functions, I would really doubt that outsiders have any influence on the way the NewLite shines. Yes, the legal department and the financial wing are extremely instrumental in recent changes, but the absurdity with which changes are made and principal teachings are abandoned leave absolutely nothing to reason. The new regime IS the only thing that matters. They are a shoot from the hip bunch. They rule. Its their law and their time in history. They are the only thing that matters and JAH's timetable revolves around them, he was simply waiting for them to arrive to play out his purpose....ludicrous!

for those of you who believe in the bible, have you ever seriously thought about the events that led up to the creation of eve?.
genesis 2 - 18 the lord god said, it is not good for the man to be alone.
i will make a helper suitable for him.. .
Consider the Jewish understanding of Lilith and I believe your whole concept of Eve will change.
so i used to think that all witnesses believed the same exact thing but i have heard some claims that they believe things i'm not familiar with.
do you know if it's true?
Only when faced with a Judicial Committee, otherwise they are all free-thinking
so i think the title pretty much says it all.
i have a tendancy to be long winded about things, so i'll just give a general introduction and maybe tell things as i go along.
i don't even really know what i want from this site (ironically i remember jehovahs-witness.net mentioned from the platform as a site not to go to).
Find something meaningful. There is a measure of true wisdom in the words, "there is more happiness in giving than in receiving" Go back to school. Join a group or club. Take an interest in your community. There is much more out there than you can imagine. Get busy living.
as seen in recent posts, beginning later this year appointments and deletions of elders and ms will only happen through the circuit overseer.
this means that individual congregations and elders have no say anymore.
if the gb want only certain people in or out, they tell the co and he makes it happen.
Very good points all. The fact that this change is taking place now is very telling. For several years there have been rumours of changes in the wind. The deletion of the DO and conferring ALL this authority to the CO can only mean a couple of things and like DATA-DOG and Metatron have said, they are probably legal in nature.
Recognizing that it has been several months since the Candace Conti case went into appeal, this change is timely. Deliberations taking as long as this could only mean that the answer is not cut-and-dried. It is a perplexing legal case and neither side will be left with 100% of the verdict or outcome. If the ORG recognizes this, and I believe they do, then changes to distance the ORG from the clergy need to be made quickly.
Having served with some of the most pompous, arrogant, and self-absorbed CO's that this ORG has appointed leads me to believe that this change is a nightmare in the making. Jason, Freddy Kruger and the Child's Play kid will cease to be scary in comparison to the oligarchs that this change will bring into being. Yes men will be the norm and fear will reign. Fear of losing the position not simply of not being used in the assembly or recognized by the CO for some special purpose. Get ready.
