The unmitigated gall of the wts to have a whole article devoted to telling everyone how foolish they are for not "planning for the future" in regard to caring for elderly relatives when they have been preaching for umpteen many years that the end is just around the corner and that we SHOULD NOT BE PLANNING for any future in this society becuz the end is "just around the corner".

It blows my mind that people can't see through this schytt.

It's like a hard slap to the face to the entire flock and they just take it with a smile and say "thank you sir may I have another?" ("SLAP")...'that was refreshing".

Letter Read At Special Talk

the watchtower arranged to have a letter read announcing that elders would now be apponted by circuit overseers.. any elders on this forum know how this will be different from the current arrangement for appointing elders.. it would be nice to see a schematic with boxes showing how it used to be and how it will be in the future..

Yes. JW's are busy "Rocking the Nations" every day. Under constant, unrelenting persecution. Always in the headlines with the latest "adjustments in understanding". Heck, even CNN can't keep up with god's ever changing mind as he directs HIS organization in these critical times with timely spiritual instruction.

My oh my. How timely is the overlapping generation's "adjustment". Wolf Blitzer live from WT hq's with all the latest and a team of expert panelists breaking it all down as the world stops in its tracks to listen to the lifesaving news from god's approved channel.

their view of apostates seems to be out of the realm of the ordinary, the natural.

its as if the words of apostates are supernatual or spiritistic as if apostates are some kind of jedi knights who can slightly wave their hands or twitch their eyes and bring one under a spell.

E-meth is full of crap. Nobody can read coc and do all that research and come to the conclusion that the watchtower society is the "truth". He's full of it. If he really did do all that research and STILL believed in the witnesses? He/she is a full blown nut case and beyond help.

They're cowards. They go knocking on peoples doors on a daily basis expecting people to listen to them and their beliefs but if you challenge theirs...they are told to run away as fast as you can.

while it is true that jehovahs witnesses are hated and opposed in all the nations of the earth, this is in fulfillment of what was foretold to be an identifying mark of genuine worshipers of the one living and true god.

Some of them feel they are "Rocking the Nations". Hah. Yeah right. They aren't rocking jack squat. And i'm sure the trumpet blasts in Revelation were really these announcements from the podium at some conventions back in the 30's. Suuuuuuuure they were.

The most irritating thing to me (at least one of the most irritating) is this pompous attitude from the society and the witnesses in general. Who the hell do these people think they are anyway?

It's all just made up imaginary bullcrap.

Yeah. I can't get thru a whole day w/out the witnesses making major news with their stunning message. Yes, the same one they've been spewing for decades.."The end is just around the corner".

Whatever.

What's funny is, on one hand they exude this pompous attitude and promulgate it amongst the flock but if they are exposed as being the weak, ineffective, non-influential organization they really are, they just flip it to being picked on and presecuted like a defensless sheep that Jah will soon rescue and then exact his revenge on the bullies of the world.

They've got an answer for everything.

Maybe. That forum is just plain weird. It blows me away how cocky these people are when NOTHING they have ever said has proven to be verifiably true.

What mind blowing thing has ever come true that they predicted, that would cause anyone to say "Yes...this is obviously the Truth"?

All these predictions that the "end is just around the corner" etc. would seem to point more to this NOT being the "truth". When have they been right about anything of significance?

I've said this before that a HUGE % of the flock are merely staying in because of family and fear. A low percentage really WANT to be in this and would bolt if given half the chance if their were no reprisals for doing so.

just to share a little about me:.

i was recently appointed an elder, about 6 months ago now, and that is exactly two years after my awakenning, but funny that the appointment came also about 2 years after i had completely lost all faith in god and had been leading a full time anti-jw life .

makes you wonder the role of the holy spirit in the entire nomination or appointment process.. .

I have my doubts this guy is for real. If he is, then I do understand his twisted reasoning to a degree. I don't agree with it but I kind of get it in a way. If he's authentically doing it this way he's trying to effect change by showing people the harsh reality of what this is all about. It's like the witness widow with an unbeleiving husband that just passed away. Nobody (well...very few) is going to come up to her and say "by the way...you do realize that your husband will not be ressurected don't you? He had a chance to accept the truth but refused it. It's up to Jah but we have always taught that people like him will NOT be ressurected". That used to be the harsh reality. Telling the widow this harsh truth will hurt her to the core...being told she will NEVER see her husband again thanks top our loving God. That may just be the inpetus for this widow to wake up and leave.

That's just one example of some of the harsh "truths" that many just gloss over or refuse to accept or address...or think about. Getting in people's faces about it could cause them to say "the heck with this..I don't believe THAT".

What we have here though... I think is just a guy who is making up a weird story.

I don't believe that to be true Navy. There's a purpose and an 'afterlife' to all this it's just that religion and specifically the witnesses don't have the answers to what it all is.
