Will they ever say "Peace and Security"?
by JH inwith all the trouble around the world, do you think that one day we will hear "peace and security".
we heard this so often when we were in the jw's, but no one knew how it could happen.
i don't see any peace in the horizon.

Dancing today
by Haereticus inif i am not mistaken then about forty years ago there was a study article in wt, which quite clearly stated that a mature christian should not dance with anybody else than ones spouse.
somehow i remember that the article gave an example of a couple visiting another couple and let's say the male host would grab the female visitor and lean on her going together circles for few minutes.
then the article went on asking what the visiting male would feel in this situation and what diffrence music would make?

Where does the light shine brightest?
by JamesThomas inyou just know there's going to be trouble when there's a preface of apology to the many christians i'm about to insult.
i really don't mean to (honest t' god), but i can't express myself around it and still make sense.
the only reconciliation i can offer is just know that everything i say here can, to some degree -- be applied and insulting to jews and moslems as well.

"Bible Students" and 1919
by artful ina have a couple of questions pertaining to the wtbts and "bible students" from 1914-1919 and onward that i would appreciate receiving your feedback on:.
1. does anyone know how many "bible students" (jehovah's witnesses) there were in 1919?
i know that wtbts keeps such meticulous records of their "flock" now, but i have no access to material that covers that time period.

607 for Babylon's destruction
by rebel inthis has probably been discussed on this forum hundreds of times - my excuse is that i am fairly new.. i have a friend who has decided to listen to me as regards why i do not go to many meetings any more.
i mentioned the 607 bce for babylon's destruction but could not remember where the 'society' get the date from.
i know some of you will say they just counted back from 1914 etc, but i have read that they get the date from jeremiah, isaiah or daniel or something.

Fornication or loving intimacy???
by Raisputin inso, my question is (and i am posting this on the other board as well for any that know me there).. what is the difference between "fornication" and "loving intimacy"?
by loving intimacy, yes i am still talking about sex, but i am speaking of sex between two people that care about each other and are in a relationship of some sort as opposed to a one-night stand..... for me the difference would be:.
"fornication": 1 night stand.
