A person is no longer a JW the moment he or she decides not to be one any longer. There is no law that says you must 'announce' it to anyone. Just stop attending and walk away. If questioned by ANYONE, elders, fellow JWs, family members, friends, etc. Just say: 'It is not something I wish to discuss with anyone now or in the future'. End of story. Whatever reactions people have to this are THEIR issues.....YOU don't owe anyone an explanation.

Just quit quietly - the law is on your side!
by Ajax infreedon of religion guarantees any individual the legal right to abandon any religion at any time for any reason.. if you are a citizen of a country which champions human rights, then your government doesn t care what religion you join, but they will uphold your freedom to join it, without interference, coercion or persecution.
your countries human rights legislation will conversely uphold your rights when it comes time to abandon any religion you so choose.
those (elders) who incite others interfere, coerce or persecute those who have left will be in transgression of the human rights statutes.. a person is only obligated to ecclesiastic law if he exposes himself to it or transgressed it while still a member of a religious community.. when your time comes to abandon the jw-wt cult, do it while still in good standing, be proactive - be decisive -put it in writing!..and do it before the hounders set sights on you.. write a card or letter with as much or as little explanation as you one day might wish to share with pharisees and lawyers.. take this card to a notary public to have your signature witnessed and have the writing overstamped in several places with the date.

7 questions to make JWs think
by Coded Logic in) why do animals suffer and die?.
) if this is all about god's soverenty, why cause the flood?
how does it prove "man cannot direct their own step" if god immediately turns around and wipes men out for " eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage ?".

Ask a JW to name ONE thing with which they respectfully disagree with the official Watchtower doctrine or policy.

Why were no sea creatures destroyed in the flood?
by smiddy inall the animals on earth were destroyed in the flood of noahs day apart from those in the ark ,apparently no sea creatures were destroyed in the flood , why is that ?.
this is not an issue that only affects jehovahs witnesses , it is one that affects all beleivers that accept the bible as gods word.. obviously sea creatures were not put on the ark , no whales ,no dolphins , no fish , no krill , no plankton etc.
you can fill in the rest .. so my question is , why were land animals / birds singled out for destruction ?, what wrong did they do to deserve this judgement against them .

The story of Noah's ark and the Flood is a total myth. Why anyone is even concerned with figuring out the details is beyond me. It's all nonsense.

They should save money and just reserve a few rooms at the nearby No-Tell Motel. That would make more sense.

Is it worth it trying to wake up a friend and my parents?
by Mr. Self-Destruct inmy situation right now is trying that how my friend and parents that the jw's are not the true religion.
i've shown numerous examples of flip flopped doctrine, false predicions, the validity of the jesus choosing the bible students in 1919 and more.
but it seems that although the recognize these mistakes they ask me, "aren't you happy the organization is making progress?

For now, just keep learning TTATT for yourself, but resist the urge to try to debate with your parents. While you are under their roof you may need to just go along with things as they are until you can move out and support yourself. Just do as few JW related activities as possible. Develop outside interests and make non-JW friends. You will have plenty of time in the future to try to wake your parents up. Now just isn't the right time, in my opinion. I wish you the best.

You might mention to him: 'Does the fact that we have differing religious views mean that we can't have a loving relationship? Did Jesus, being a Jew, shun Gentiles? Did the early Christians shun Jews?'

Was Jesus the Nazarene The Messiah / Promised in The Hebrew Scriptures?
by objectivetruth inin seeking truth, and removing untruth, often more is removed then ever initially imagined possible.. christianity, claims that jesus was & is the messiah.
this claim is primarily based on the writings of the greek scriptures.. throughout history, god has given signs to people, in order for them to believe.
never has he become upset with an individual asking for a sign.. some individuals such as moses asked for multiple signs.

There is no Messiah, Jewish or Christian. No Big Daddy in the Sky is going to come solve all our problems. The Hebrew and the Greek Scriptures are outdated myths. Come up to Present Time and live your life NOW. Stop obsessing about things that were written thousands of years ago by primitive people.

This confirms my opinion that it is NEVER a good idea to marry or even date a Jehovah's Witness. They are all essentially nuts emotionally. My advice is to tell your wife to go screw herself, leave her and never look back. Then she can wallow in her own misery. So just disconnect from her and the JWs immediately and totally!!

Will the Societies tighten their grip even more with the power slipping?
by thedepressedsoul ini think its pretty clear that the gb are power hungry.
you cannot listen to the branch visit and not see clear as day that there are some of them that are loving the power.
it showed the clearest with anthony morris.. now all these sex abuse scandals and news media are taking their power away.

The GB members are all self-important uneducated nitwits. They are desperate to maintain absolute control over the rank and file members. But sooner or later this approach will backfire as more Witnesses get tired of the high-control rules. When the GB starts telling folks what type of SOCKS to wear, people are likely going to start waking up.

Why We Observe the LordÂ’s Evening Meal - Jan 2015
by berrygerry inany still attending who are going to give a comment about last year's memorial study article?.
-

Let's hope that JW teens who have to attend the Memorial will see the absolute idiocy of it. The Memorial has to be one of the most boring events in the JW year. Plus the Special Talk that follows a week later is a real snooze-fest. One such talk was what finally turned me off totally to the Witnesses. The speaker was one of 'the anointed' and I figured if he was the best they had to offer I wanted no part of the religion. I never darkened the door of a Kingdom Hall again.
