When the brothers met with me for reinstatement I had an attitude and a half.......as if I could care less attitude.......and they didn't seem to mind.

That really reminds me of the movie "Shawshank Redemption" when red (Morgan Freeman) went before the parole board.

Quite a situation you're in, I could really relate to your comments about going to the meetings and wanting to stand up and yell, it was like that for me before I quit. I don't know if you were DF'd or DA'd, but I would say that if you were DF'd for something other than apostacy, you could just play the "spiritually weak" card. If you are well liked, I would bet it won't matter if your are active or not. Because I don't have a label, I still am around JW's from time to time because of my active wife. Even though I am not a part of any JW function and have hair on my face, they treat me just fine. The reality is that most of the JW's I associated with I only did because we shared a religion. We really didn't have too much in common so not being around them is no big deal. I have found that most of the stuff I did as a JW was out of a sense of obligation. I really didn't want to be there anyway so I really like it as it is now. I say enjoy your family, pick and choose the invites, try to ignore the irritating JW lingo.

My advise is for Gumby to jump in with both feet and go whole hog about it. He might as well. When you're in with the Witnesses, you're in it with your entire soul. They wont have it any other way. If you're in it Gumby, be in it and try to enjoy yourself.

OTOH Gumby, if you can't commit 100 percent then you need to get out. No need in doing something half-assed.
