(((ESTEE))) This thread would take a helluva lot to get killed!! I fear you might always find the male-female imbalance for dancing. I know in my area, dancing of any description just isn't seen as 'manly' any more. If only they knew more about the origins of some of those dance moves!!

I've been busy the last couple of days - started putting out Christmas stuff in the shop yesterday and today - only today was completely disrupted by two groups of very lively school pupils who were on a field trip to help them learn about religion, cultures and values. I enjoyed it though - I think someone from the school was supposed to warn me that they were going to be calling though... Tonight I was invited to tea (dinner!) by one of my regular customers, I only got home a short time ago, now I'm tired.

Met sweetpea and her two children yesterday, they're up here for a few days staying with Mr & Mrs Pubsinger. It's so good to be able to put faces to the names :-)

Have a great evening or day wherever you all are. Sleep well if you're in Europe!!

    Dear Friends,

A pleasure to hear from you!

EMO: You certainly had your hands full with that overflow of kiddies, minus, sadly, the two dubbies. They could have, at least, been present, seated in the corner, hands folded and refusing to participate. No fun allowed! No outside reading material allowed! No talking aloud allowed! Things cannot possibly get much better than that, can they!?!?

Next time you may get fair warning ... Thanx for sharing.

ESTEE: Regarding Emo's comments on the disparity on the dance floor and the attitude of many men toward dance, have you seen "Strictly Ballroom" and both versions of "Shall We Dance"? I found all three films delightful. That 'Shall' version with Gere and Sarandon was especially poignant. The tender interplay between the two of them after the "discovery" is very touching. Happy endings don't just occur in everyday life - they happen in HOLLYWOOD and JAPAN and AUSTRALIA!

    Please tell us more, ESTEE!

    Get me a handkerchief!

Mrs. Bee: Happy the pooch is feeling better and that you're enjoying the beautiful weather. It's been terrific here in California after our "big" rain on Friday night. It came and went but everything's finally fresh and clean. Fire danger has been downgraded. Thanx for your ever-participation ... keep us posted on Doggy-Diddums.

JH: Good to see you back - I've missed you and hope you'll return again soon! Just don't become a killer of threads! LOL!

    Hi all

Put more Christmas stuff out today. I'm sick of it now but at least I managed without major disturbances today!

Should have been out for tea again tonight but I got uninvited so I'm on a bit of a downer, it'll pass though. Sometimes I just feel like a spare part :-( I need to get my life together.

Ah sod it all, pity party over :-)

    Have a great day/afternoon/evening everyone!

Well I've just spent my late lunch doing a quick perusal of this thread. Been meaning to for a long time, but always felt late to the party.

This thread is a hidden JWD "gem" IMHO. Glad I finally took the time to read here.

So, CoCo, I have a "Daily Journal" etiquette question. Can a paranoid, active JW, deeply hiding their true non-JW colors, (that would be me) post here if my posts are way out of sync with "real time"? The "out-of-sync"ness could be days, weeks or months depending on my level of paranoia at being "outed".

I'll understand if you'd rather keep it more real time.

    (Damn cult.)

Oh yeah, BTW, it's a gorgeous Fall day here in Cali. (But CoCo already knew that.)

    Cheers,

    Dear Open Mind,

... A long time ago, in a parallel universe - taking refuge under
the "Witness" Protection Act - was a faithful and true board
member, who sought to bend time and place to afford that one's
    self sanctuary ...

GO FOR IT, OM! No problema. Wear a disguise, alter the time-space continuum, take us on a journey of discovery - we just wanna hear from you!

Does that mean "YES" to your question? You betcha!

    Thanks CoCo.

With your green light, I had a wonderful day a while back. One of my kids followed through with plans to perform in a music recital that took place in a local church. The performance was great. My child didn't choke.

Inside the church it was beautiful. The architecture was fairly modern and the cross up front looked kind of "sleek". Acoustics were perfect.

One non-immediate family relative came with us and I think was a little bit "creeped out" by being in a church, but got over it and seemed to have a good time.

A few other relatives have learned about the location, after the fact, through the grape vine and it hasn't turned into WWIII.

Afterwards we visited with other performers and families and no demons seemed to attach themselves to us.

Overall, a wonderful day to be alive.

    Hi Open Mind,

Can a paranoid, active JW, deeply hiding their true non-JW colors, (that would be me) post here

Absolutely! We do not shun on this forum or in this thread, OM . . . So, welcome!

Ooops, I am a df'd person speaking to an active JW.

With no intention of ever "going back." (Waiting for lightning to strike me.)

    Nahhhh, just kidding.

Vent all you want OM, you are safe here. We support you! *hugs*

btw . . . I'm much too happy to "go back."

My life is "working" for the first time in . . . my whole life!

    Love

Gorgeous sunrise on the way to work this morning. Crisp air. Changing leaves. And a certain reminder that the "death" of Winter is just around the corner. It's a time to reflect on the longer "year" of a human life-span.

    I love the Fall!
