  NO, NO and NO again!!!

  There is absolutely nothing good coming out of the JW religion. Nothing. Zilch. Take your ordinary "inoffensive" dub. For a start he/she will believe in subjection of the woman, so straight away all woman are emotionally imprisoned - gagged - and can't live thir lives to their full potential. Thats 70% of JW's who's lives are immediately restricted. Look at the kids, banging on doors, 5 meeting a week, no sports, nothing outside dub land, no Xmas, totally unpopular and unaccepted by their peers. That just leaves a few males in charge of the whole set up, and we all know what they are like!

  No no, Sleepy, they are a bad bunch, any good they do is certainly not for the benefit of their fellow man, it's just to earn Brownie points, believe me. Otherwise how could a Father / Mother shun their own child?

  If God asked me to do that I would say NO!

  Oh, and as for the crap about the JW's turning around some poor drunk, druggies, or abuser's life around, that's pretty much hogwash. Where to you hear these stories from eh? Oh, the WT and Awake? Or maybe the assembly's? Thought so. Ever heard the word propaganda? The JW org is VERY good at it. Fact is that rarely happens, and usally when the person is activly seeking a way to turn their life around. I would bet anything that groups like AA(Al Anon) and the like are FAR better at stopping those cycles than JWs.

  Of course all other religions tout these 'life affirmation' stories to prove the 'power of god's word' in people's lives. The JWs are NO DIFFERENT in that regard.

  billygoat.........i have to say this allthough i know it wontmake me popular with many on this board.......not all JW`s are child molesters most dubs dont even realise this type of thing happens in the cong.as a matter of fact the average dub has no idea of all theawfull things that the G.B.has done and is doing! most dubs have never been to the back room and harrasssed by elders what they are doing is working thier asses off denying lifes pleasures anddoing everything they are told to do by the G.B. because they think they are doing a good thing for Jehova. they do things like shunning DFed ones because they are told its what God wants.............................dont get me wrong i dont belive in doing these thingsnor do i practice these things thats why i am concidered bad fellowship in my cong. however mis guided they are for the most part i dont belive that the majority of dubs are evil. on the other hand the organization itself is!........ i think anger twards the G.B. is more than just and i hope some day that they will be held accountable for the human damage they have done!........as for the average JW? .........i hope some day they will see the real truth and realize just what thier organization has done to them.....................Jedd

  I keep coming up with more, this subject touches a nerve I think.

  JW's are happy? Ha. Not many of the ones I knew were truely happy. Oh, they put up a good face most of the time, but of the dozens of congos I attended or was attached to (through freinds/etc) I knew of a vast majority of the people fighting depression, etc. We've talked about the high incidence of CFS/Fibromyalgia in the congos too - which from my somewhat involved research is tied very closely to a) chemical imbalance and/or b) sleep disorder among other things (lot's of discussion could be made here)

  Of course the huge burden placed on the average JW does nothing to aliviate the stress levels. Fealing weak? Do MORE, do MORE. Feeling tired? Do MORE, do MORE. Hard to make it to meetings? Do MORE so jah will bless you. Feeling depressed? Do MORE, more, more, more.

  Brother/Sister Downer, I notice you are having a hard time making the monthly average in FS. Maybe if you eliminate <insert some 'worldy' activity here> you'd have more time for jehovah.

  Always the brother's fault if meeting attendance or FS is down. This atmosphere and message to the rand and file is that you are NEVER good enough, NEVER do enough, and god's going to kill you 'Real Soon Now'. I highly suspect that the VAST majority of JWs truely beleive that they are not good enough to survive the big 'A'. Now, how mentally healthy is it to feel as if god's going to kill you every day, and that everytime you make a mistake is that much MORE you have to DO to MAYBE survive.

  This is all total crap!

  Look you guys, stop blaming the borg as though all dubs are helpless victims, they are responsible for the fact that the borg is still there!

  Want to know what really tits's me off? When some dub says sorry I can't talk to you, you're DF'd, its nothing personal yak yak yak. Damn right it's personal!!!

  I say to them it's YOU who won't speak, it's YOUR choice, don't give me this victim crap, take it on board and live with it!

  All you guys who regard dubs as victims, nice guys really, are just playing into their hands IMO.

  Whem my Mother and Father shunned me for many years, I got angry with THEM, after all it was their choice.

  We all are responsible for our own actions, including individual Jehovah's Witnesses.

  As I have said before, I don't really think people shun people because it is a scriptural requirement. I think people shun people because of peer pressure with a healthy portion of "I told you soism" tossed in for good measure.

  I don't think one can. There would be NO WTS without it's followers.
  The people ARE the Org. It's always been my opinion that if the Rank and File demanded to celebrate Xmas, and when the GB resisted,
  and members started to leave in droves, there would be a very sudden "new light" on the practice.

  Argue all you want about brainwashing, etc. Witnesses ought to be held to the same standard of decency as everyone else. They have choices too.

  It's an unfortunate tendency that we have to lump large groups of people into one neat little pile and then put a label on it.

  I seem to recall that some of us here on this board are quite upset at having the same thing done to us.

  There was this man who helped a country completely devastated by war out of a horrible recession and re-built their country in a record amount of time. His efforts made his countryman productive, happy and proud. He was always kind and gentle to the little children of his country, often taking his valuable time to stop and chat with them and pat him on their heads. He smiled broadly at them and was loved and adored by the citizens of his country.

  There was also another man who took his time and efforts to help people get out of the ghetto and to instill pride in themselves. He ran a church which was world-famous for the charity works it performced. His church gladly accepted people of all races and treated them all equally.

  So, just as the WTS has good qualities like these two men, they also have a few flaws like these two men.

  Oh, by the way. The second man was Jim Jones. The first was Adolph Hitler.

  ALL cults have SOME good to them. It's not the SOME good that is the issue.

  I thought that would get people going.
  There is an organisation.
  There are people who belong to an organisation.
  These are different things .
  If you belive there is no good in Jehovahs witnesses as people you are just as blind as you were before .
  I know personnaly peolpe whos lives were changed for the better.
  I personnaly helped people myself I know lots of Jehovahs witnesses who are very kind and loving people .
  They will not shun you or hate you .
  They give to charities and activly help them amongst many other things.
  I came from a congregation were there were few problems , around my area this was the norm.
  Just because someone belives something that is wrong does not make them evil.
  You will do no good in demonising them.
  This does not ignore the bad that does happen the point I was making was being BALANCED,I'm not saying JW's are amazing or special lots of other people do good as well.
  If you dont recognise this or remmeber this you were in a different religon to me .
