Anonymous Watchtower scholars with no credentials but their own claims to scholarship. How impressive. Not!

I've meant to comment on this for some time. But scholar is one of those "submarine publishers" that you only see @ Memorial

I laugh at his "celebrated JW scholars": there are none. And it is an oxymoron. The Watchtower is dead set against any self aggrandizement as it would take away glory from God. In the early days of Watchtower, you could determine who authored what; but they did away with that. To become a noted or "celebrated scholar" is not done anonymously.

Scholar seems to be a disingenuous but clever hoaxster that is certainly not a JW.

'scholar' said: Congratulations for your courage in providing a good defence of Jehovah's Witnesses, their beautiful and sacred teachings and its modern day organization.

Oh look! Doctor Demento speaks. [IMG] Let's see if he has anything intelligent to say:

Be assured that our teaching regarding chronology especially the date 607 BCE is soundly established on the Bible and secular history.

Which of course is a big fat lie. You can easily prove using the bible alone that Jerusalem was destroyed in 586 BCE which is confirmed by 'secular history.'

The date is well proven and supported by several WT scholars many of whom are qualified at University level and have made significant contributions to biblical scholarship similatr to that of the NWT Committee.

LMAO!! WT scholars qualified at the University level? Ya.....whatever you say scholar........Maybe it's not a good idea to mix booze with your medication before posting..........

Apostates Witnesses hate 607 BCE 586 BCE and only rely on the published work of an apostate Carl Jonsson Freddie Franz & Co.and they simply accept everything he has written without any criticism it is just as Jesus said about 'the Blind leading the blind'.

Wonderful to see you back here again spouting your nonsense again 'scholar'.

"Everyone in the Org at that time completely and radically changed their lives because we were told that Armageddon was coming in the fall of 1975. "

Sorry but that is simply not true. My life was not changed radically, nor were the lives of my family. I know that some people took this to mean what you claim, but from my experience they were a minority.

ROFLMAO! A minority? A minority believed Armageddon was coming in 1975???? I guess the only JWs who believed that were the ones who attended meetings, read the literature, and attended the assemblys. Only the inactive ones could possibly have been out of the loop enough NOT to know about it. Guess your family was one of those "spiritually weak" families by WTS standards. Consider yourself lucky to have been raised by lackluster Dubs so that you were spared what the rest of us endured. StAnn

There's no defense. It's all very very simple. When you say that you are a sinner, and you ask Jesus to forvive you, you are given his grace. That's it. You are forgiven and you have not sinned. It's by grace we were given and it was grace we were saved. Stop making it all so complicated. It's really simple. You were born in sin. You are by grace, saved. God makes it very simple for very simple people, or people who are really complicated that can't see it simple. By grace you are saved.

    StAnn,

Now we know how to spot victims of the historical re-writes: They think a "minority" got caught up in the 1975 End of the World prophecy!

Scholar has been here longer than I and is an active JW apologist. You are too. And you are both still on the board. Wow, we must be shaking in our boots to hear the truth-since you have been banned from the board-both of you!

Oops, well, I guess you are still here. Amazing how that works, huh?

"It does but if we only measure false prophets on dates then the majority of christian faiths have done this, the older ones have learned to stick their head in the sand but once they were the WT equal on this. 1000 ad was popular for predictions. If you want to try and make wt into a false prophet you'll have to use more evidence than this, unless you aquit other christian faiths because there date naming was so long ago.......One thing I've notice is people on here will bring up paperwork from 19 century on wt onwards but they act like all other faiths are wiped clean by virtue of time.

    Reniaa"

I am not following any christian who made false prophecy in 1000. Anyone else here doing that? Two wrongs make a right-for only one of the parties? Cause you seem to say that if there are other false prophets, that proves they are false, but if the WT is a false prophet, it just proves that they are still caught up in false religion (adventists! It's all their fault!) I am not following men who predict dates, and I am not in a religion that promotes date setting. Christians are supposed to make Christ their lighthouse, not a religion or group of men, not an organization. Not a watchtower.

Guest with Questions, it seems to me that you have a very good grasp of what the Bible teaches in these areas.

I think the funniest thing about Reinna is how she can troll around with her apologist nonsense (since day 1, mind you), and people just jump on in. She just taps away on her computer merrily, counting time to put in at the kingdom hall.
