Witness My Fury
Animals in the "new system" will be veggies according to the WTS as they are not supposed to eat each other Evidently... From that we can deduce that Evidently they were veggies in Eden, .... Qui? The lion will eat straw just like the bull etc etc
Or Non? I say Non because of the teeth and digestive systems they have. Just because Big cats like little ones occaisionally take a nibble on some grass dont mean they can live on it. Its done for specific reasons not for hunger. The snake aint gonna eat carrots is he? No he eats bunnie wabbits who eat carrots instead.
I never ever belived that the animals would become veggies again anyway despite that being taught.
Cheers

Thanks, hotchoco! That's really my birth name, bestowed upon me by my cracker Father.
WMF & DP, those are all excellent points. I remember hearing about vegetarian carnivores being in the new world like they supposedly were in the GoE. I, for one, would like to have an herbivore T-Rex to ride around in the new system.

Adam and Eve (yes again) who deceived Eve???? Serpent or Satan????
You need to read the account closer...
The serpant (Satan is never mentioned in the book of Genesis - he was created much later) said that if she ate the fruit that A) she would not die and B) she would be like God, knowing good and bad. Compare that to what she said that God had said would happen. Eat and you die.
So A&E ate. What happened? Their eyes were opened and they became like God, knowing good and bad. What was their punishment? Driven out of the garden to toil the ground and experience birth pains. Death for the act of disobedience was not executed.
So, in the end, who lied?

It was death, UC. Being away from God's presence is death. Spiritual death. And don't forget that they hid from God because they were afraid and ashamed. Again, spiritual death. I don't see how the serpent/satan didn't know this. No... he deceived them, cleverly and with half-truths, and by that method, he continues to deceive people in that same manner today.
Even Eve, with her eyes 'opened', knew that she had been deceived and said so in the account.

The least knowledgeable humans are those without practical experience and education.
Adam and Eve were such persons.
No family life. No mom and dad and brothers and sisters to interact with.
No history of discipline and corrections gradually honing their cognitive skills.....
Knowing a Serpent "cannot" talk is a large assumption.
Remember, everything was NEW to Adam and EVE. On the job training writ large.

Oh Tec, that's not what the bible says. It says death in a very plain manner. Paul re-iterated that. God said in the very day they ate they would die. They didn't.

But the words that came out of the snakes mouth, turned out to be the truth!

Jesus spoke of death, too. He said it plainly, too. But he also explained that he spoke of spiritual matters. Otherwise, explain this passage, if he is not speaking of spiritual death:
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die."
Or
"Let the dead bury their own dead."

So it was a metaphorical death? Could it have also been a metaphorical snake in a metaphorical garden?
Isn't it odd that God would intentionally be inconsistent and fickle with such an important message he wants to convey? (God must be a woman. :-D jk, honey, if you read this!) Which parts are literal and which parts are figurative? Is there a formula, such as it's only literal until it sounds absurd or contradicting... at which point it must be figurative?
I'm gonna start taking random things figuratively in my daily life: "But, officer, I thought it the stop sign was metaphorical... that I should consider my course of life before making any hasty decisions. That's what I was doing when I rolled through that intersection."
