The Bible indicates that Jesus was far more than a counterpart to Adam.

Romans 5:15-18: "But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the
one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Again, the gift of God is not like the result of the one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. 18 Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men."

Someone remind me where it says that Adam and Eve were perfect, please.

    Booby,

"And, believingxjw, why did he sin. He was perfect, what caused him to sin."

Men and women choose their path. Adam chose his.

Do you really think Jesus would have chosen his wife over his Father?

This is a terrible argument, Tammy :)

He might have. Human's go through extreme changes after marriage and having kids.

We don't know what Jesus would have done as a human father or husband.

(maybe he avoided it because he knew it would his undoing)

Here's the way I always saw it:

Adam believed in a talking snake and chose that story over eternal life.

How mature could he have been?

Jesus is, what BILLIONS of years old?

    It wasn't an even match.

God figured out that singleness was the key to success.

Also, he didn't have to live a full human life and he didn't die for us because he was resurrected.

Sure he endured a lot of pain. But he KNEW he was gonna return.

If he died FOR GOOD for us, wow that would have been something.

Okay super-sensitive Christians. Not only is speculation okay, it's even important.
I have been in an organization that didn't allow such speculation. Many others here have also.

So, here's another one: God brought all the animals to Adam to name them, but also to find a suitable companion.
If he were happy with the sheep or the horse or the giraffe, then no Eve was needed. Good thing he didn't have his freak on.
