Maybe a law that requires some % of the board of directors on public traded companies to contain reps for the workers.Another aspect of the German (and other successful European) model.

Hey Darth, our economy is 2/3 consumer spending. If we don't have the dough to consume....................... That's why direct spending stimulus (food stamps, unemployment checks, WAGES etc.) works where tax cuts on the top don't. We spend the money.

Sam Whiskey:
FHN - What is your definition of a Plutocrat in power? Can you give me some examples of ruling Plutocrats in our time? Plutocrats in American politics?
Sincerely, I want to see it from your perspective.
It's more meaningful to ask who are the supporters of the status quo.
The upper middle class, for the most part. To me that's anyone making over $100,000 a year. They are the wannabe rich.
The vast majority of the rich. Don't know where to start income wise, but you get the picture. It is from them which comes the...
The elite. Both rich and politically connected. The Koch brothers are a prime example. Look out for those whose names we do not know.

I saw this clusterf*uck coming a LONG time ago.
While some say it's riduculous that an autoworker makes $25 an hour right out of high school, you have to look at what people are paying for cars. The UAW was left toothless. They have closed plants down and re-opened at a much lower wage. Did the price of cars come down? Not much. There are some models that are under $20,000 now.
Manufacturing jobs leaving America killed the lower middle class, while investors and CEO's made millions. Americans just can't compete with a third world country when it comes to surviving. The cost of living is higher here. If you make $2.00 an hour here, you'll starve and live in a cardboard box.
Sam Whiskey, I seriously doubt you are real. If you are in charge of all that money and all those poor employees, you wouldn't have time to be such a dick on here.

Beks, when you were managing your book store did you pay the guy with three kids more than the single guy just because he needed more?

I honestly do think the Teacher's Union shouldn't be the poster child for Unions. The tenure laws are ridiculous. We had a teacher here who was a real pain in the ass. I talked to Principals, guidance counselors, they all told me their hands were tied because she was 4 years from retirement and had tenure. Nevermind that she was abusive to my daughter.
