I guess the bigger question is...why should they?
Why should they be entitled to a living wage? Because that's how it works now. We don't farm, trade, and barter individually anymore. Some of us still do. Almost everything we need requires an exchange of money; water, electricity, food, housing, clothing, etc. For most of us the only option is to be employed by a company, where we're paid for our time and producing/doing something for the benefit of that company. Now, if that's your only option but no one will pay you enough to cover your needs, what happens? It's a right. We can't live now without money. Maybe you're thinking of min wage as opposed to living wage. I'm not, all I'm saying is workers should be paid a fair amount for their time and what they do for the company. Maybe you're suggesting we go back to pre-union days, when companies could pay whatever the hell they wanted. That's not a good mix with capitalism.
