years ago, one of my employers manufactured a product that needed molded plastic stuff.

the molds had to be replaced every 5-6 years. the mold made in USA cost $100,000USD, the same mold made in India cost half the price. The broker guaranteed tolerances and quality............... wanna know who got the job?

Also, my boss exported some product. One day, the service man was asked to fly to mexico to see what was going on. want to know that they were molding knock off product in mexico? they were not calling us for replacement parts, they were making their own!

Was that the true cost of the mold? Or was the seller of the mold damned greedy? I doubt it cost that much because of the cost of the labor.

FHN, I'v given some figures on my last decent employer. This was a company that did a VERY good job of providing a decent, clean, safe, well-maintained place for ordinary people to live. Please tell us how much you think the owners of the properties should make in a year. I'm really curious to see you put an actual number on it so I can discuss the economics of your proposal.

DaCheech: "again: then tell your fearless leader Obaminator to raise the minumum wage (living wage)."

Other than your idiotic assumption that I'm a Democrat, your statement, a typical strawman response, simply begs the question about corporations outsourcing jobs REGARDLESS OF MINIMUM WAGE. I realize that you suffer from hysterical blindness and cannot see the facts and examples that I have repeated ad nauseum without a relevant response.

Your meaningless retort about raising the minimum wage will not effect corporate outsourcing at all.

Your assumption is reasonable Flying lady. It might take highly specialized labor to make a mold but it certainly won't employ a lot of people. That example of the mold only supports what I've been saying about the total irrelevance of unions as they effect outsourcing.

So much for the pathetic delusion of some that getting a special skill will accomplish anything. I already gave the example of two tool die workers, a highly skilled profession, and what happened to them. Of course, the image I posted above shows the response that certain morally and intellectually bankrupt ideologues have given. Or not given.

I find it pretty hard to complain about unions when CEO pay vs worker pay is about 400X currently (was has high as 500 times worker pay just within this last decade). I dont think that additional unionization will work in a global economy when other countries are able to produce goods with unfair currency manipulation and near slave wages.

Once America can compete at parity with other countries, then there will be jobs.

If your boss could not meet payroll, then he wasn't running a viable business. If you are running a viable business, you can afford to pay the people who run your business to run it. It's very simple. If they can't live off what you pay them, why are you in business? If I had a successful company I'd have onsight daycare and all kinds of benefits to make my employees' lives easier. I'd be awful damn grateful to them and they'd know it.

    LOL....

FHN - It's quite clear you have no idea what you're talking about. But I gotta give you credit for at least trying to fit a Square peg into a Round hole.

    Hahahaha.....

I watched a documentary interview once. Kids who were "satanists". When asked why, they said because they would rather "rule" with satan and burn others, than be burned by him. Dumbasses. As though satan had some integrity that prevented him from using them and then tossing them in the fire as well.

Why has Germany been so successful?
