Unfortunately, those who ask it can't grasp that, dear PSacto (the greatest of love and peace to you!). That can be seen by how some of them continually decry those who provide the answer... or the answer given. I realize that at some point it's probably best to just let the question lie but that case "they" cry that there is no answer. Such are the little children in the marketplace, yes?

Wait. In the first place, dear Heartofaboy (and given your issues with "luvy duvy stuff" your avatar seems quite appropo... only I don't know that I would limit it to your heart, but perhaps include your intellect as well)... my greeting(s) weren't even directed to you. How can you take issue with a greeting meant for and directed to someone else? Isn't there some kind of MYOB thing that would apply? Second, that YOU have issues accepting a kind greeting, one wishing you (and your household) peace... means I should cease and desist from offering it to others? Seriously?
Look, dear one: I don't know how old you are or what your life experience has been. I feel it safe enough to say that you haven't run across very many authentic people, as you obviously mistrust a kind, sincere greeting. A lot of that is quite "western," though, and so understandable; I wager that you wouldn't have a problem with it, however, if I said, say, "Shalom" or "Salaam Alekam", etc., which means the EXACT same thing. I don't follow the Jewish culture/religion, nor am I Muslim, so I say it in English. So what?
The thing is, dear one, you are not my leader. My Leader has directed me to offer a greeting of peace whenever I enter another's home. When I do so literally, I actually hug and kiss the one(s) greeting me, as well as make a wish for peace for that household. Here, I am also entering folks' homes (okay, and offices, etc., but I don't always know that) and so offer such a wish.
I must confess that I'm not feeling my usual self these days, dear one, and so my patience isn't what is usually is. Given that... and given your "request"... how 'bout if I just ask YOU to skip over any threads/posts from me... or close your eyes... or refrain from clicking your mouse... or whatever it is that YOU need to do so as not to have your skin "crawl"? Because I'm not going to stop greeting the dears ones here in the manner I do... unless specifically asked by such one(s). You may note, then, that not ALL receive such a greeting from me. You no longer need to fear that you will, either.
