No, no, don't shut up, Dinah.
I used to talk to my hen, also.
Her name was Dixie.
She would look at me with her head tilted at a peculiar angle, and cluck in response.
We're all in this together.

ohio, I am truly sorry for your loss
My hen's name was Henrietta.
Ohiocowboy, you have a PM and sorry, it is a bit long, my apologise.
Sorry Ohio for your loss,
I know how you feel about the loss of a pet. I had a cat for 16 years and when he died of renal failure I cried for months. He has been gone for a couple years now and I still miss him. He was the best pet I ever had and still cannot bring myself to get another animal.
About God and prayer, its true no one really knows why God answers one prayer and not another. Innocent children do die in accidents all the time and it sucks. But it is not God's fault the accident happened. He is not like a fictional superman who that we can expect to jump in front of speeding cars or trucks all day to save people, that will only die another day anyway. That is our finite mind thinking how WE believe God should be.
But God, in all HIS wisdom found a better solution which is taking care of the problem of death completely, thru Christ so that although we DO DIE, we shall LIE again.
Dear OhioCowBoy:
You wrote:
“The thing that gets me the most is everyone in any religion I have read about does not allow a place for Dogs or any animals in an afterlife as they say they have no soul, and I have been crazed since I have lost her that I will never see her again. She was my child, my little girl, and the thought that after death that i could not see such a pure being again makes me even more depressed, because right now I am looking forward to dying just to have the chance to see her again, yet it petrifies me if there is an afterlife and I cannot even have her back after death.”
I am certainly one who is NOT laughing at you or your feelings. I understand totally what you describe in the above statement. I have two pets—beautiful dogs—whom I love so very much. Sometimes when I think of their “eventuality” spoken of in Ecclesiastes it hurts my heart too. However, perhaps it would be good to consider the account in Genesis of the garden of Eden. There were animals IN the garden, there were animals OUTSIDE the garden. But, when the way into the garden was blocked by the two Cherubs and by the flaming sword so that sinful man could no longer re-enter the garden at will, everything OUTSIDE of the garden along with man was prevented from getting back into the garden due to the flaming sword and the Cherubs. There are animals in paradise, OCB—truly. Ecclesiastes speaks of the “eventuality” of the “spirits” of the animals. And, remember, too, that Christ is going to ‘bring all things back to its original existence’ before sin and death entered this world. Jah has “covenants” even with his animal creation. Do not forget this. Maybe this may lighten your grief if only even for a little.
May Jah—the God of ALL comfort—comfort you in this grief.

Inkie, that is so profound.
You have a gift.
Ecclesiastes 3:19 -22 Humans and animals come to the same end—humans die, animals die. We all breathe the same air. So there's really no advantage in being human. None. Everything's smoke. We all end up in the same place—we all came from dust, we all end up as dust. Nobody knows for sure that the human spirit rises to heaven or that the animal spirit sinks into the earth. So I made up my mind that there's nothing better for us men and women than to have a good time in whatever we do—that's our lot. Who knows if there's anything else to life? The Message Bible.
While we may believe there is more to life - I most certainly do - there is not a one of us who can say with certainty that there is.
Truly, truly.

Greetings again, dear OC... and the greatest of love and peace to you! I would like to respond to some of what you posed to me. As for what occurred with your dear pet, I will let the kind words of dear tec, Curtain, SnoBirdie, and Inkie (peace to you all, as well!), if that's possible. For me, my puppies are like my children and so I had to ask as to whether there really wasn't a place for them in the kingdom... and in addition to what dear Inkie posted from Ecclesiastes, my Lord reminded me that in order for a young TO play on the hole of a cobra, there has to BE cobras in the kingdom. For the lion to lie down with the bull... there has to BE lions... and bulls. What exists HERE... originated THERE... and will be restored. So, my hope includes ALL those I love. Even "fur persons"... both domestic AND wild.
I, as well as others have begged to the True God, and have begged literally until it hurts and the pain is so great as I mentioned before that I could literally die.
Please, PLEASE forgive my candor here, dear one, but I have say, in truth, that it was NOT to the TRUE God that you appealed... because you do not KNOW the True God. Rather, you appealed to a God created by man... in order to hold sway over his enemies... and one whose identity was laer usurped, misused, and maligned... even falsely named... by other men... in order to take advantage of those they want to control. The TRUE God is JaHVeH... JAH... of Armies... who is the Most Holy One of Israel. May I ask: was it He who you begged to?
Would not a human King even show mercy on those who supplicate themselves to the point of exhaustion for help?
If one is supplicating, for example, the King of England... and addresses that very King... then I would have to say, yes, of course. If, however, one believes he is supplicating the King of England... but is actually approaching, say, the King of Queens (i.e., someone who doesn't exist)... or another King entirely (say, from France), how can he expect anything from the King of England? He isn't ASKING the King of England. Or, say, one is a subject of England... but supplicates the King of Norway? Would not that King (Norway) send the one back to his own king? And would not the latter (King of England) say, "Well, sure, you appealed and appealed but you did so to the King of Norway. You NEVER, however, appealed to ME. You never even approached me, but him. So how is it you expect an answer from ME?"
There are so many religions, and many gods out there that people believe in as you yurself have said,
Yes!
so why doesn't the True God help if a person is praying to the True God, in Christ's name?
May I ask, dear one, just what/who you mean by (1) "the True God", and (2) "in Christ's name"? I mean, if you're praying to "God"... or "Jehovah"... or "Jesus"... you are NOT praying to the True God. And if you mean you're saying, "In Christ's name" or "In Jesus' name"... you're NOT praying in Christ's name. For one, "Christ" is not the Holy One of Israel's name. Nor is "Jesus." You have to KNOW the name, dear one... and use IT. You can't do that, however, if you don't know what it is. That it has been hidden, however, is neither God's nor Christ's fault or doing. It is man's... by means of the "spirit" of THEIR god.
A loving parent would calm their child when they need reassurance or are afraid, yet the one who supposedly created us and loves us don't/won't help.
That is not true, dear one, not at all. Let's say you and your fleshly parents when on a camping trip in Yosemite and your father told you not to wander off; however, because he's prudent, he makes sure you have your cell phone on you and says, "But if you get lost, CALL ME ON THE CELL PHONE." And, of course, you get lost... because, well, you're a big boy, perhaps even an eagle scout, so you're not afraid of the wilderness. You've always found your way back home before, so why should this be different? Soon, night falls and you can't see... but you hear what you THINK is your father's voice. So, you head toward it. After awhile you realize that what you THOUGHT was your father's voice really wasn't... and that you're much farther away than you realized. You hear "sounds", etc. And... you're scared. What do you do? You start yelling your head off! But your voice is so tiny in the forest with all of the other night sounds. You yell, and yell, and yell.
And then "something" reminds you of the cell phone. You take it out, look at it, and then grow even more discouraged because there are no "bars". So, you put it back in your pocket. It just never dawns on you to GIVE IT A TRY. Because you're not stupid and EVERYONE knows that you can't make a call if there's no bars. Right?
Try the "cell phone," dear one. Even if there's no bars.
I would never ask for money or material possesions to increase wealth, etc. but have prayed for the life and health of something that I was a Guardian of, but lost anyways, and I watched her suffer in the end.
I must defer to dear tec's response, here. EVERYTHING living dies... for now. Because the promise of life is not FOR now... but a later time.
A part of myself was ripped away, and I find it a challenge every day to stay alive because of it.
Dear one, I lost both of my parents... and almost lost my son (when he was 10). And get anxious from time to time over the eventually of my dear puppies. I know your pain. The Most Holy One of Israel watched as His Son's life was ripped away, not by sickness, disease or "natural" cause... but murderous humans. He, too, knows your pain.
Prayer addressed to the True God in Jesus' name didn't work before or after to help.
I have to say to you, candidly, dear one... no one EVER promised that such would. The name "Jesus" is a falsity. It is not the name of the Holy One of Israel. Rather, it is a named contrived by the Greek Jews who took on Greece's national god, Zeus, when they were under Grecian rule. The name "Jesus" means "Je is Zeus"... or "Jah... is Zeus." The TERM "Zeus" means "highest god"; however, their highest god also bore the NAME "Zeus." The Holy One of Israel, however, is the One who came in the name of "Zeus." He is the One who came... in the name of JAH. His name... is JAHESHUA (JAH saves; salvation of JAH).
I know I will soon die Yes, for a fact, people can and do die from a Broken heart all of the time. I am soon to be proof.
They can... and do. But they don't have to. Let me ask YOU, dear one: if you had died, such that another's heart was so broken, what would you want their eventuality to be? To die of such broken heart? Or to go on living, happily, if possible? I understand that the pain SEEMS unbearable. SEEMS. But it is not. You CAN bear it. You must CHOOSE to do so, however, and go on living.
Just a sign. I just wanted to be heard by my creator. I didn't want wealth, I just wanted to not lose Love, something there is a big shortage of in the World. My last hope.
While the Most Holy One of Israel does answer prayers, dear one, it is the prayers of those who belong to Him... or who approach Him out of a pure heart. However, He does not give "signs"... other than those provided through gifts of the holy spirit. It just doesn't work the way you... and many others... think/believe it does/should. That you so think/believe is because of the LIES told to you by earthling man as to how the Most Holy One of Israel "operates." I exhort you: STOP listening to THEM... and listen to the One who said:
"MY sheep... hear MY voice."
He said that his sheep DON'T listen to the voice of strangers. From what you've shared here, however, I believe you have been listening to strangers. It doesn't have to continue that way, however. The "Door" has not yet closed. May YOU, then, be granted ears, if you truly are wishing, so as to hear the Spirit and the Bride, when they say to YOU:
"Come! Take 'life's water'... the holy spirit of God, the MOST Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies, which spirit is poured out from the innermost parts of His Son and Christ, the Holy One of Israel and Holy Spirit, JAHESHUA, the Chosen One of JAH... free!"
Again, I bid you peace, dear OC, and I am YOUR servant and a slave of Christ,
SA
Be careful or you'll both be called 'childish'
By me, only if one is being so, HOB.
Don't ya just love Believers view of a selective God. 'He's not the God of everyone'. Un-frickin-believable.
Obviously, you've never read the terms of the Old Covenant, dear designs (peace to you!), though that's interesting, given your consistent defense of Jews. Let me clue you in: it wasn't between God (the Most Holy One of Israel) and the world. Only Israel and those who went with them were in that arrangement. The nations were excluded. Which makes me believe you ALSO haven't read the terms of the NEW Covenant... which, while including the nations, is also exclusory.
Just because someone claims to belong to "God" doesn't create an automatic relationship, ratify either Covenant, and thus obligate the Most Holy One of Israel. Do, PLEASE... at least READ what IS written. I cannot stress this enough to you, given you repeated erroneous assumptions.
'Only through Christ',
Pretty much, yes...
what happened to the Bus load of Baptist kids who ended up in the ditch mangled and killed who believed with all their heart in Jesus.
What usually happens when one believes with all their heart in "Jesus." Little, if anything. Why? Because "Jesus" isn't the Christ.
At least one minister at a recent funeral I went to for a Christian who committed suicide admitted to everyone 'I don't know'....
He was being truthful. I would have said the same thing... because the Most Holy One of Israel shows mercy to whomever HE wishes. So, it is not upon ANYONE to say. The accurate answer for ANYONE... as to the ultimate outcome of another... is "I don't know."
Again, peace to you.
A slave of Christ,
SA
I am embarrassed to say this because of people's reactions, but the death I was refferring to was my Dog. Please don't laugh
Not laughing at you. Promise. I went to work before I saw your post, or I would have reassured you first. I have heard too many stories of how much love goes toward your pet to ever laugh at the pain that comes from losing one.
Love to you, and strength as well,
Tammy
