Why God keeps silent to somebody even after intensive cry?

I mean, if you're praying to "God"... or "Jehovah"... or "Jesus"... you are NOT praying to the True God. And if you mean you're saying, "In Christ's name" or "In Jesus' name"... you're NOT praying in Christ's name. For one, "Christ" is not the Holy One of Israel's name. Nor is "Jesus." You have to KNOW the name, dear one... and use IT. You can't do that, however, if you don't know what it is. That it has been hidden, however, is neither God's nor Christ's fault or doing. It is man's... by means of the "spirit" of THEIR god.

Sounds like you need to get the magic spell right before god will pay out

Have you ever read 1 Kings 18:20-46? You might consider doing so, especially considering that the Baal worshippers on Mount Carmel were petitioning their own god and not Jah. Much like many people today petition God, Lord, Jehovah, Jesus, etc. After reading it, you might get a different or new perspective as to what you describe as to "get[ting] the magic spell right." Then again, maybe you won't. Whatever.

Inkie do you think we don't know the bible in great detail already? Shelby has often remarked on the importance of getting the correct form of god's name right is we want to be heard by him/her/it

She prefers a very specific long-winded double-barelled version that I can't even remember but it sounds like the work of JK Rowling

What sort of prick would god be if she refused a heartfelt cry for help because the supplicant didn't know the secret name?

Speaking as an ex-JW, ex-evangleical its all hocus pocus

It isn't the name. It is what you've attributed TO that name, so that you are no longer praying to anything resembling who that name is supposed to represent. We should do a different thread to continue though, if we're to go any farther. Out of compassion for Ohio.

Dear tec (peace to you!) is right: we should take it to another thread, dear coffy (peace to you, as well!).

Cofty: You have no idea how many people who claim to know the bible "in great detail" don't know squat about what it really does say. You can bank on that! --Inkie

The OP asks why god keeps silent, Shelby suggests its because the supplicant uses the wrong form of gods name and I challenge that this is superstition. I'm sorry but how is it off topic?

Ummmmm... surely, YOU jest. YOU are taking issue with what someone chooses to call you? Seriously? Try this:

It just wasn't an answer to the OP question, Cofty, (which I know happens all the time) but I thought, given the reason for his question, Ohio might appreciate that we take a debate over the reason to another thread... especially before it turns to bickering, as it usually ends up there. That's all. I started the new thread for that.
