Does God speak to you? HOW?

What an excellent question. Hope this personal answer makes sense.

When I look at my hands and what is attached to them, ie the rest of me, I see the most amazing animated bio-technology in action. Formed from the ingredients of rock and liquid which cover this planet. And then I remember the stunning complex codes or hardwired DNA in every cell of my body, fused and linked to my brain's information processing system via a mindblowing network of living and growing nerve systems. 'What a stunning piece of work is life in all it's forms?' - quotation from Shakespeare (just in case it's copyrighted and Shakespeares lawyers are reading). Thus, to me our Creator displays his evidence and I look to hear His voice.

And the Darwinists shout: 'what a stunning piece of work is evolution.' And aren't they right? Of course they are. Science clearly sees the mechanics through which the universe unfolds. God didn't agree or disagree with Darwin but did give man the intellect to see clearly this evolutionary evidence and to work out the mechanics of the world. But a little voice inside says: 'So where did this computer code called DNA which is actively running in every cell of my body simultaneously come from?

    And:

I have had, and keep getting, images in my head of events that later happen. Images that always, without fail, later turn out to be entirely accurate in all detail. I cannot find any branch of science which can explain this phenomena with any credibility. Sadly, this, and all paranormal/spiritual activity is as yet unexplainable by science.

So: How can a lump of flesh, dependant entirely on the physical world around it, see accurate events in the future? The only answer I have seen that makes any sense is that there is more to this world than we realise.

Since this phenomena has left me utterly convinced of the reality of the Creator is this God's way of talking to me? Who knows?

Perhaps it pays me to keep an open mind whilst I have yet to realise all the answers. Perhaps not. But whichever route I travel in my head the Creator speaks through logical scripture and kind heart. And kind heart tells me that our Creator went through a great deal of trouble placing and sustaining this universe. It appears to me that God wants this universe, and man, to continue its' existance, despite our human nonsense and wild ideas. God clearly wants us to have peace and joy on this earth. Does He not say so via His scriptures?

So I guess our loving Creator does speak to us, each in our own way, in order that we each hear His message in a way that we can realise and understand.

Oh yes, very much so, He speaks to us via His Word, the universe He created, nature that we are exposed to everyday, the love between his creations, ALL we have, see, hear, smell, taste, everything, is God's revelation of Himself to Us.

Some ask where does the bible fall into this and NOT to get into a debate about it, but it is PART of his Divine revelation, along with his Son, The Universe, ALL that we are part of.

When we focus on only PART of his Divine Revelation, we only get "part" of his message.

And isn't this exactly what Paul was referring to when he wrote:

what may be known about God is manifest among them, for God made it manifest to them. 20 For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable. . . .--Romans 1:19, 20.

Seems to me when one truly examines the creation, one cannot NOTsee the invisible God and His qualities.

this, and all paranormal/spiritual activity is as yet unexplainable by science.

And that's what bothers me, dear andrekish (peace to you!). Well, those who believe that what is yet unexplainable (by science), means it is not... does not exist. When the TRUTH is that everything that IS explainable by science... was, at one time, unexplainable (by science). As I have often said, just because science doesn't have the tools... accept the "tools"... or knows how to use the tools... YET... doesn't mean that what it can't explain isn't true/doesn't exist.

Science is as subject to change... actually, even more subject... than ANYTHING else. But die-hard "believers" in science simply cannot "see" that. Like the WTBTS, their current "truth" is the ONLY truth... at the time. Yet, it constantly changes. I simply do not get how "they" truly cannot "see" this.

But, heck, I'm only a tiny drop in a very large sea.

    Again, peace to you!

I feel like I just have to point out something.

Some of you, most of you agree that God talks to you through Scripture.

God is all-powerful, all-knowing. He is the creator of the heavens and the earth, the universe. He himself established all the physical laws of the universe, some of which allow mere mortals to communicate with each other both auditorily and visually all over the world and even into space.

God is all-powerful and all-knowing. The best He can do is have men write a book for him . . . a book in three different languages I would dare say nobody on this board, with maybe a couple of exceptions, speaks, reads or writes. A book so egregiously immoral and contradictory, so utterly difficult to translate in many passages due to a lack of historical and contextual information and from a time long ago, and we are constantly trying to fit its meaning into terms of modern cultural context and constantly getting it all wrong, or erm um erroneously communicated. This is the best the all-powerful, all-knowing great communicator can do . . . ?

If such a fool spoke to me, I would ignore him. What's he going to do to me? Ignore me to death? Oh, yes, that's right. That's all he does anyway . . . he ignores people to death.

I don't think the best God can do is to speak to us through scripture or even through words. I think that's the most some of us can handle/hear. I think some spiritual things can only be discerned... by the spirit. Explanations using words are limited by our own vocabulary. Just like some things are lost in translation from language to language; perhaps some things are lost in translation from spirit to flesh.

What dear tec (peace to you, dear one!) said, dear PC (peace to you, as well!) - LOLOLOLOLOL! Note, though, I am not one of those who God speaks to through the "scriptures/Bible"...

    Again, peace to you both!
