Gregor - If anyone here would do that it would be you. Aren't you almost 70 years old and wasted your entire life in the borg? I am still fairly young with lots to live for. Maybe you should just kill yourself you are obviously an angry old man with little to live for since your entire life was wasted.

In 20 years i'll be relaxing somewhere with my family while you are dead in your coffin with no one who cares about you.

I can see both your link and the embedded version. I've seen that clip before...

I wonder if Bill Maher is in favor of outlawing the religion of Islam in the United States? Somehow I don't think so.

My favorite line, and one I completely agree with:

"There's so much talk about wiping out ISIS. You can't, not with bombs. You can only expose that something is a bad idea, like extended warranties. Cultures are different. It's okay to judge that rule of law isn't just different than theocracy, it's better. If you don't see that, you're either a religious fanatic or a masochist, but one thing you certainly are not is a liberal."

Bill Maher feels that all religion is a cancer on humanity, and Islam is the worst of the cancers. I could go out on a limb here and say Islam is certainly not my favorite religion for a number of reasons, and I don't care much for religion as a whole. But I don't judge every Muslim I see based on extremists cutting off heads, I KNOW all Muslims do not believe that those with differnet ideas deserve to die, and I don't think Islam should be outlawed in the United States of America. Freedom of Religion is a founding principle of this country.

I personally believe that each person should be judged on their own words/actions/beliefs, not on their brother's, and certianly not on the actions of their 62nd cousin living half way around the world.

And yes, I agree that a democratic government is superior to a theorcracy. Who in the Western world doesn't?

But that does not translate to a crazy belief that Muslims are all the same and trying to outlaw a religion in the USA.

Bill Maher does not advocate trying to bomb ISIS out of existence (because it would not work!) and I have not heard him advocate for anything less than the FREEDOM in the United States to worship as one pleases or as one does not please.

So then there is no difference between the abortion clinic bomber and all the other 99.999% of Christians because they believe in the same Bible.

    No, they don't.

There is absolutely nothing in the christian scriptures to justify the actions of abortion clinic bombers, certainly nothing commanding them to do what they do. The 99.999% of real christians have no problem distancing themselves from them because they do not share their beliefs. No one can accuse christians of being part of the same group and having the same beliefs.

For other religions though the commands are in their holy writings and sold as the worl of god. So "thumbs-up" for the people who chose not to act on it (so far) but they are worshipping and promoting that religion so what is the difference? Do they believe it or don't they? If they do then they are damned and if they don't then they are pretend muslims but still contributing to the perpetuation of an evil doctrine.

You sidestep the question - if you had to pick a religion as being THE WORST then I think most people will genuinely struggle to pick something other than Islam other than by avoiding the issue by picking some tiny insignificant group.

Freedom of religion cannot and should not be absolute. The founding principle of freedom is good to protect against government excesses and unreasonable discrimination but really, who decides what constitutes a religion and what constitutes a hate group?

I would suggest that calling for the execution of non members and beheading people means you should not get to enjoy the freedoms that others do and it's a no-brainer - what's to stop the KKK declaring themselves a religion and then what, they should be allowed to carry on as they want? That's insane.

Why should Islam (or any group) get a free pass to be abusive to so many? It has no place in a CIVILISED society.

New word game! Complete the phrase:

    Islamic ________

I think most people most likely instantly thought of either: "jihad", "terrorist", "fundamentalist" or "state" (a new entry on the list)

And I believe that these assertions are logically sound:

    • The quoran contains commandments to do evil to others.
    • Nice and moderate people do not do evil things to others.
    • If you truly believe commandments are from god then you should follow them.
    • If you don't follow them because you do not believe they are gods commandments ... then you are not really a believer.
    • If you don't follow them because you haven't got round to it yet but do support those who do ... then you are not moderate.

I do not believe it's possible to reconcile someone being nice / moderate whatever you want to call it AND still a believer as the two contradict each other. The logical explanation is that people are lying about not believing it OR about not supporting others who act on the beliefs. I suspect it is the former, driven by fear, for most people that people see as 'reasonable' and the latter by those wishing to do harm to others.

ALL OF ISLAM IS NOT THE SAME.

My Muslim friends, neighbors, coworkers, and students live in a free civilized country were they are FREE TO BE MUSLIM.

And I will support their freedom with my last breath. They have broken none of our laws and are regular human beings.

AND radical murdering Muslim fanatics must be stopped.

There is absolutely nothing in the christian scriptures to justify the actions of abortion clinic bombers, certainly nothing commanding them to do what they do.

Oh yeah? every heard of that verse about an 'eye for an eye?' or being a 'blood avenger'? these ideas are from the Bible regarding what should be done to a murderer (which is what the abortion bomber thinks abortion doctors are: murderers) and "Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image" <--supporters of the abortion bomber use this scripture to say the the Bible says abortion doctors should be killed.

It all depends on how you look at the Bible. Moderate Christians see nothing in the Bible that says to go out and kill abortion doctors. Radical terrorist Christians see it differently.

It is the same with the Koran.

So how devout are your muslim friends, and how do they view Americans eating pork, drinking alcohol, and having homosexual relasionships? So they see the Sharia law ending this someday? I think you should ask them sometime to see how they view Americans. I am genuinely curious.
