@confusedandalone - point taken, it seems that these KKK/neo-Nazi groups are of immediate concern, like ISIS.

'why should a different set of rules be in place for muslims?' - because as bad as the KKK are, their holy book does not command them to overthrow your government and force their religion on everybody. The Quran does (I think).

'Would you be open to all of those statements being applied to every single religion in the UK?' - if there were extremist hindus, catholics, JWs, sikhs, jews, etc. beheading, suicide-bombing and calling for the overthrow of the state then yes I would.

Then you are an ugly person in your speaking style confused and you need to learn some social skills.

I have suggested some things I would like discussed and legislated and I was heartened to read my government discussing similar ideas in the thread I linked to.

In a wider sense I see a rising zeitgeist against organised religion everywhere in the west with a focus on child abuse amongst the clergy, the taxation inequalities and the conflict with science. That Islam has forced itself front and centre by the use of terrorism argues for a pragmatic and robust response to stop the radicalisation of the muslims by the muslims. The freedom of speech so beloved by the west should be used and without fear to explore, criticise and condemn religious bigotry, exceptionalism, hatred and social threat. Real moderates in all religions should instigate and welcome such examination and be at the forefront of modifying and destroying the ideological illnesses that threaten peace and freedom.

Ummm...a caliphate is not democratically elected. It is essentially the pinnacle of totalitarianism. it isn't a joke to muslims, it's the ideal solution. I'm inclined to take islam with all their religious "intrigue" seriously without considering your plea.

I said it is a somewhat democratic process to appoint a Caliph. A Caliphate is the jurisdiction of said Caliph

A Caliph is appointed by others. So the very fact that ISIS has it's own caliph and is a Caliphate has nothing to do with the broader muslim population.

So ISIS's caliph is their caliph not that of all Muslims around the globe. The only way that the caliph of ISIS has control over another Muslim is if that Muslim jopins ISIS.

Our town has a facebook page where people can buy, sell, post funny memes or interesting news items. During the height of the Isreal/Palestine thing this summer, the page was literally taken over by Muslims.

They posted a constant barrage of hate for Israel, including many comments like, "Death to all Israel !" They posted pictures of dead babies saying they were Palestinian children killed mercilessly by Israel - someone googled it and they were Syrian.

When ISIS first popped up in the news, I posted a link to a news article about what was going on. All the Muslims complained to the admins and I was booted off the page. When I asked why, the admins emailed me back saying that the Muslims felt my posting the ISIS news item was "inciting religious hatred" and while they knew this wasn't true, none of the admins wanted to be accused of racism by the gang of Muslims in town.

These are your "moderate Muslims". In Canada.

" Then you are an ugly person in your speaking style confused and you need to learn some social skills."

Or maybe you are just a windbag who deems it possible to rip peoples rights away from them on the internet and you do not have the moral fiber to back up your words when you are face to face with someone. In most places you would be considered untrustworthy and a snake in the grass. Most people like to hold conversations with people who put everything out there.

You suggested that there be no faith based schools? I am an atheist myself but how could I dare to take away peoples rights to open a faith based school. Let me guess you also wouldn't say that to someone on the street either.

You suggested no home schooling based upon religious reasons. Again how can you take away peoples rights to do that? Let me guess you would not say that to the face of anyone either.

No religious garb in public places? (summarizing your thought - you can expound if I left anything out) Once again easy to say on a message board when there are no real people to confront you.

I would much rather be a truthful and upfront guy who is an ugly person in my speaking style who needs to learn some social skills, then a lilly livered individual afraid to tell the whole truth. I noticed you said that you detest bullies in another threads, yet you continue to try to remove peoples rights to worship and personal choice because their ideals do not jive with yours. Seems strange.

Bully - one who uses superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants. Sounds like 3 of the 6 or 7 of the regulations you want to put in place on people who do not share your views

As I said, I was booted off the page and my link to the article was deleted. I don't know what's gone on, on that site, since this summer.

I'm not going to post my location publicly.

@Hummingbird001 - that sounds about right. Here in the UK certain sections of the mainstream media hold the US and Israel to a uniquely high standard whilst sweeping other countries' crimes under the carpet. A couple of months ago, shortly after a Belgian jihadi shot 4 jews dead, Owen Jones wrote a piece commenting on the rise of anti-semitism in Europe. He mentioned various right wing groups - Golden Dawn in Greece, Jobbik in Hungary - but failed to mention the rampant anti-semitism within the muslim community. It seems with every muslim atrocity it is head-in-the-sand time for the liberal left.

"Orthodoxy, whether it be Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Zoroastrian, Buddhist or of any other faith, is tolerable only up to a certain point, and only in the earlier phases of the evolution of the masses, since it conserves certain dynamic values coming down through tradition. But it must be of the discriminative type and should not be allowed to degenerate into politics. When orthodoxy denies to itself the spiritual light coming from any quarter, it inevitably reduces itself to a body without a soul, leading to separative ignorance, conflicts and misunderstandings.

"Loyalty to the incarnated greatness of the past and mere possession and knowledge of the traditional lore is not all that is to be desired. It may preserve your individuality as a religious and cultural unit and make of you a powerful political factor. But in the spiritual domain, it makes you a nonentity -- a tree without its life-giving sap."

Confused - you have lost all sense of proportion and have no answers to the concerns raised. You also lack a knowledge of the dialogue concerning Islam occurring in the UK based around faith schools, ballot box rigging, predatory sex gangs, direct Islamic murders on the streets, radicalisation of the youth, islamic hate speech in mosques, bombings on buses and the underground and muslims travelling to terrorist camps in the middle east and asia. The people of this country will overcome this evil regardless of what apologists like yourself whine on about. In a measured, reasoned way using the rule of law, democracy and researched information. The UK has a proud record of tolerance and multi culturalism that it will protect and maintain. Poisonous ideologies like Islam will find themselves increasingly marginalised and legislated as their fruits spill the blood of British citizens.

You have consistently rephrased the debate in ridiculous and sensationalist terms and as far as Im concerned youve failed to do anything but troll. Unfortunately useful points to temper and balance arguments are lost in a vitriolic wall of emotional bombast and you have done the counter argument a great deal of disservice.
