I hear what you are saying BillyBlobber but disagree with the logic from #5:
Christianity having a slightly easier time of hiding more of it's B.S. under Jesus retconning doesn't make it "better" than Judaism or Islam as a default; as the end result of how a particular sect or person practicies in the end is what matter. As such, the more liberal examples of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism are pretty much the same. The same goes for the reverse.
I think if other holy books have 'worse' content (more directives to kill etc...) then surely by definition that makes the NT / Christian scriptures 'better' from that perspective?
Not better as in "more likely to be true" but definitely promoting a less harmful ideology that is more compatible with the modern world and democratic civilized society. What most people would consider 'better' for us today to for promoting peace and coexistence.
But yes, the other books are very much of their day which is why they are filled with xenephobic mysoginistic nonsense which surely has no place now. If other faiths have addressed this by officially changing their interpretation then they have declared those parts 'null and void' which is what I'm saying Islam has to do too. While they are promoted as current truth they are dangerous.
